AMd 8000 or get a 7000 series?

Well since almost all the 7000 cards are voltage locked, i am pretty much just stuck on what to do next. Should i wait for the 8000 or go get a 7970 ghz edition? I currently had the sapphire 7950 vapor-x but i was no able to overclock it much. Please advise if i should just wait or get a 7970 ghz edition instead of a 7950.

Thanks

Keep the card.

It's able to max out almost every new game at 1080p. Save the money for maybe another one for CF in the future or wait for the 9000 series

what overclocks are you getting at stock voltage. if you are unhappy with the card you could go for the sapphire HD 7950 boost. has a better cooler. the vapor-x seems to have poor vrm cooling. this card is getting very positive user reviews. 1.1 - 1.15 Ghz at stock voltage.

I just bought a 7970 and AMD have officially pushed 8000 cards back to Q2 sighting money troubles. I'm thinking that there will probably be a 15% gain in power with the 8000. You want to buy when they shrink the die, or when the new consoles finally come out, and game makers get off there asses and start to push technology once again.

The error is the two lines you see across the screen in the center two large black lines.

I might just get this, that you mentioned.

can you post screenshot without the black lines. yeah if you can that is a good card. and you don't lose much because the price difference of 30 bucks makes up for the shipping cost you would incur in sending the vapor-x back.
