Just because they are using a good CPU doesn't mean that there can't be a bottleneck. Look at the frame rates from the top GPUs in the chart - they are all about the same instead of separating as in other benchmarks - a clear indication of bottlenecking.

Nvidia's improvements are like clockwork, there is very little variance. Where as ATI seems to have varying levels of performance increases over the years.

Leads me to believe that nVidia is holding back.

Agreed, the results from the 5000 series to 6000 series are abysmal.

My sapphire 5850 was an absolute monster and I would still consider it to be one of the best cards I have ever owned.

I would say they're the same, some of the graphs missed out the GTX 200 series....

Looks like you would need a heavily heavily oc'd sandy/ivy CPU for 120 fps minimum in bf3 or maybe its not even possible to get a minimum fps if 120 with current CPU tech.
