That was a good read. What I basically took away from it was most mechanical keyboards are largely similar and assuming one has the feature set you're looking for to basically choose the cheapest one possible.

So I've more or less finished picking things out and my question to myself really now is do I want to go the high road or the low road...

High road:

$40 - true spirit 140 or macho rev a
$255 - samsung 840 pro 256gb ssd
$20 - sony optiarc dvd burner
$200 - intel 3570k cpu
$35 - samsung 2x4gb ram kit
$100 - seasonic x650
$380 - sapphire 7970
$130 - seagate barracuda 3tb
$135 - asrock z77 extreme4 motherboard
$40 - cooler master recon mouse
$70 - cooler master trigger keyboard
$320 - crossover 27inch 2560x1440 monitor
$100 - cooler master haf 932

$1825 - total

Low road:

$40 - true spirit 140 or macho rev a
$255 - samsung 840 pro 256gb ssd
$20 - sony optiarc dvd burner
$200 - intel 3570k cpu
$35 - samsung 2x4gb ram kit
$100 - seasonic x650
$300 - sapphire 7950
$130 - seagate barracuda 3tb
$135 - asrock z77 extreme4 motherboard
$40 - cooler master recon mouse
$70 - cooler master trigger keyboard
$180 - asus 23inch 1080p ips
$100 - cooler master haf 932

$1605 - total

The only differences between the two are the graphics card and the monitor. To get the better monitor I would need a graphics card with dual dvi. The only 7950 choice with it I see is the sapphire vapor-x for $330, so in that case I would rather just go for a normal sapphire 7970 for $380. Is that wise? Right now I'm leaning towards the high road because for the price I'd like to think in the long run I really would enjoy the better monitor. I've never owned an ips monitor before but I have seen the apple thunderbolt. As for some stuff I will say my choices aren't quite final. I haven't 100% settled on a mouse, keyboard, and case. And what about the true spirit 140 versus the macho rev a? I think the true spirit 140 is a little better but I'm not sure. Otherwise though the rest of my choices are sound and I'd like to order soon. smile.gif

I'm not sure how bumping works on here...but I decided to go with the more expensive monitor, one of the korean ones from ebay. That said I would like some feedback on things like I said in my last post if anyone has any and I should be ready to order soon.
