Should I get a laptop or portable laptop?

Thread Starter
You see, I am going to use it for college especially for Animations, and I thought a gaming laptop is good for it but when I think carefully I won't use my gaming laptop often compare to my gaming PC. So I thought about a portable laptop and now I am unsure about the decision.

For gaming laptop, I was thinking to do animations and playing light games while in college but when I get home. I just put it by the side of my PC and start up my gaming PC which I feel like I wasted 700-800 dollar gaming laptop for only like 6-8 hours usage.

Now compare to a portable laptop that is just for YouTube, emails, browsing, college and etc. I won't feel like I wasted it because it'll probably cost between 400-600 dollar laptop. Which the results is that I'll have to wait until college hour is over to start my animations assignments.

I know I am the only one who makes the decision not you guys, but I am like on the edge of choosing between either a gaming notebook or a portable laptop. What do you guys thinks?

Well,

I personally feel that gaming laptops tend to have a longer shelf life over your standard laptops. So my money would have to go with the gaming laptop.

Have a look in ebay, you can get some really good deals up there.

If you can pick up a Lenovo Y570, you could have the best of both worlds. Was recently on sale for 650 new, could probably find one with a core i7 cheaper used. The core i5 one is amazing also.
