ya anywhere between 1.230 and 1.280 accoding to Intel Desktop Utilities. Why is this "insane"? when my temps are great and insane for me would be anything past 1.50. I've never seen my CPU usage go past 25% with games running maxed out.

I didn't use any software to OC, my BIOS has an easy OC slide bar that does it for you.

He calls this insane because it's impossible to run 50C full load with that core voltage even with a custom liquid cooler. You must not be measuring it right because I have same thing and 1.12 gets me 80C full load 1.2 gets 90C full load giving me 4.3 ghz.......... this ain't a matter of chip differences here there is simply no way it's full load temp

You need to get better cooling (or reseat your cooler). Those temps are very high for those volts.

I use HWMonitor, Core Temp. I know the difference between VID and Vcore! im on 1.355v in BIOS with LLC Enabled final vcore of 1.37vcore in windows and im just hitting 74c on load with push pull configuration...

Did you check if you applied thermal paste properly? that can make a real difference, i had to clean mine off then apply a PEA size in the middle of the chip, because thats the hottest part at PEAK load.. gave me 74c on load instead of 80c...

All im saying is your temps are WAY too high for the kind of vcore UNLESS you live in 40c degree weather constantly.

my cpu is terrible look at my voltage and temps I can only get to 4.6ghz max, for 4.7 I need a little more than 1.45v, which is over the max vcore recommended on air.

Following the guide now to get the best temps + over clock
