[Geforce] GeForce 310.70 Drivers: An Essential Upgrade For All GeForce GTX Gamers - Page 17

I installed this driver, played some Black Ops 2, all fine. Then played some Warfighter, and about an hour in, black screen, computer crashes. GTX 690 no longer works at all - not recognised by the PC. I tried it in a different PC, same result. It's possible something else killed my 690 (I installed an Arctic Cooler on it a few weeks ago), but it has been running fine until I installed this new driver. I can't even RMA the card since I replaced the cooler. I am totally bummed that my 690 is now bricked.

That would definitely be the very first 600-series card I've seen bricked by drivers if true. I hope it's not from the drivers, doesn't seem likely. Why is the warranty void? You can't replace the stock cooler?

Do you still have the original heatsink? Even though I had a waterblock on mine, I kept it. When the time came to RMA I just took my block off, and put the original heatsink back on.

Yes, I do have the original heatsink. However, I am reluctant to do this because it is a little dishonest.

Your thousand bucks. If you wanna eat it ill get you a fork.

Replacing a cooler isn't dishonest unless the cooler was the cause of the failure

Even if I swapped a cooler and blew my card up you bet your az I'm still gonna RMA it.

Looking for that fork.. Hold on

Nothing dishonest about that, your aftermarket cooler is from a reputable brand and shouldn't cause that problem.
