Beta, but finally a WHQL candidate, which means it's likely to not be a beta for long...

I have beta updates unchecked......this is considered official WHQL.

I've been running Win 8 without issues today. Gaming briefly stable and smooth but did not thoroughly test.

Well about one hour ago I went to my Nvidia control panel and selected "Update" from 306.97 and it said "No update found."

I then proceeded to Nvidia.com and looked for a 670 driver for Win 8 64-bit and it gave me 306.97.

I then selected show betas and 310.70 showed up for me and allowed me to download and install it. It called it a beta WHQL candidate.

Not sure why you're calling me out, but I'd check your settings...

Wasn't calling you out. Pardon any misunderstanding.

I thought that because my 'include betas' is turned off.

To avoid confusion, they really should have called this a release candidate...

My 3dmark 11 and vantage score went down with this driver release, as well as BF3 crashing multiple times. I remove all Nvidia drivers when I install new ones. These are the first ones to give me problems. Ah well.

If you look at the core for GPU1, it runs at 1293mhz for the first little bit, then goes up to 1306mhz where it should have been the whole time, and stays there. Not sure how the LN2 BIOS would behave.
Edit: Sorry, the second GPU was supposed to be at 1293mhz, offset I set was off a bit. But yeah, the top card should have been at 1306mhz the whole time. And started out at 1293mhz for a bit.
Thanks for testing. I'm having issues with my 680 Lightnings downclocking even at stock. Temps are a non-issue and I have 0 down clocking when running the latest WQHL drivers. BTW, did you run Heaven in full screen mode or window?
