Intel socket 1155 CPU Cooler help!

Thread Starter
So i got my pc last tuesday and after assembling and played the cpu went up to 61 degrees celcius while playing CS:GO. I am searching for a cpu air cooler but since there is a few space between the ram and the processor i don't know what to get. What do you suggest?

212 evo. 212+. Noctuna dh14, h80i, h100i. You should get a good cooler because you will want to overclock eventually.

For the price, it's hard to beat the Hyper 212+.
However, 61c is not all that bad. If you keep temps under 80c, your processor should live a full life. Check the max temperature by using CoreTemp and IntelBurnTest or Prime95. You'll be able to see the full load temperature value of your processor in no time at all.

at 3.5GHz on that intel stock cooler you should expect it to get warm with a 3770k lol. it runs kinda hot.

i second the 212+ or 212EVO suggestion. unless you plan on doing a massive overclock and start folding 24/7 you dont need a hardcore cpu cooler thumb.gif

im at 4.6GHz running full load 24/7 folding and i am at high 70's

so a 212EVO will do you pretty well for just gaming i think

I'm not sure if there is an overkill case club on OCN, but you should be the first member smile.gif. Not only are you using a stock CPU cooler which is generally not good, Ivy bridge CPUs have heat transfer problems, and you are using a case with no airflow. I can't tell with that bright light at the top, but I would either get something like the Hyper 212+ and add fans at the top blowing air in, or get something like the Corsair H100i and have the fans blow up and out.

yea considering how much you have invested in that might as well actually just put a monster cooler in there like a H100

you are going to be limited on big air coolers with that vengeance ram having such tall heat spreaders

At the top for know I do not have nothing right now. I will be having 3*120mm fans pulling air in and the 140mm back pushing air out. still deciding what fans to get smile.gif
