I am currently rocking my sig setup and am wondering what will be the best upgrade for this holiday season. my setup is currently all watercooled and I will not be watercooling the additional parts added.

So far my options are:
another 6970 and run in xfire, also upgrading power supply to x750 or x850,

or single 7970 and either selling or finding something to do with the current 6970.

Also I am curious with either of these setups if my processor, 965 Phenom II, will just hold back anything more I throw at it. I don't have the funds this holiday to upgrade both processor and graphics cards. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks in advance!

sell the HD 6970 and get the HD 7970. HD 7970(1.15 Ghz) can easily match or exceed HD 6970 CF. with a single GPU you get the most consistent experience without microstuttering . CF scaling issues and CF profile availability issues make things even worse. the HD 7970 will also draw less power, run cooler and quieter.

just overclock your CPU to 3.8 - 4.0 Ghz with voltage tweaking. you should do fine.
