Sorry to hear Addiction...Ditto here on the RMA. On a positive note, I guess you can always focus on how you want to do the watercooling and cable management in the meantime. The latter being the most time consuming.

Merry Christmas.

At least you have another system to mess on I guess. I only have one atm and if that goes, I'm stuck using my iPhone for internet browsing and powering up my PS3 after a year and a half of it being off lol.

I assume you are going to change the color scheme of your sleeving as well if you change boards right?

Indeed that is the plan, as well as getting things painted/power coated. I also plan to do all my small sleeving jobs (front panel, fans, pump, fan controller, etc.) So it shouldn't be wasted time, just a tad frustrating is all. tongue.gif

Merry Christmas to you too! santa.gif

While I do have another system to mess with at the moment, my secondary PC has no internet (I was planning on using the PCIe wireless card that comes with the G1 Sniper 3 in my old rig for wireless for my wife tongue.gif). I do have my laptop for browsing at the moment, but it is ancient and utter crap. I feel your pain though. You should have seen the internet we had when we deployed in the Navy. It was slower than what I had in the 90's lol. Press send for an email, 10 minutes later it either goes through or times out and you have to try again.

As for the sleeving, yes, if I switch boards I will most likely be changing colors as well. That being said, my second choice of board is the MSI Mpower, and my case is white. I don't think white would do too well with all the yellow, not enough contrast IMO. So if I have to end up doing that, I plan on doing straight black and white, with a small splash of grey (since the board has a little grey on it too). I would also remove the heatsink and southbridge covers (so they would be all grey, and have no yellow), and that would leave the board solid black and grey. That would REALLY go nicely with some of the white di-noc I have. tongue.gif I already had the "backup" semi planned in case the Sniper 3 proved problematic. Here's to hoping it doesn't come to that though, as I really wanted a green/white/black main rig. thumb.gif If it does, then I get to do the MSI Mpower set up in my backup (wife's) rig sometime in the spring! biggrin.gif

Turnaround time on the motherboard shouldn't be too long. I'm in Florida and shipped a board to Gigabyte in California, total turnaround time to my door after they received it was 11 days, and they shipped it back UPS 3 day. That board came out of the box with bent cpu socket pins. Gigabyte fixed it no questions asked. Newegg refused to do anything and essentially called me a liar when I told them it came that way.

Reminds me, I still have a board I need to send to Gigabyte for repairs. I managed to fubar the top pci slot when I was fiddling with 2xgpu's and sli fittings. Lucky for me I have 2x UD5H boards. Hoping Gigabyte will fix it and not charge too much.

My RMA for all 3 items is with Newegg. I was just barely still under the 30 day return period. I called Gigabyte, Corsair, and Samsung regarding returns and they all said to deal with Newegg (since I was within return period) if I wanted it done faster. Either way, my hope is to get it all back just after Christmas (hopefully before the weekend following Christmas) so I can use that whole weekend to test the parts out again and get the build rolling. If Newegg tries to say ANYTHING about that motherboard, I have some nice ways to silence them. I took pictures and video of the packing process for it. biggrin.gif Proof that the pins were in tact when I shipped it out! I have heard the stories about how they sometimes deal with motherboard returns (which is also a reason they wouldn't do advanced replacement for me), so I tried to take some precautions. I packed the living hell out of all 3 items too, and put them in slightly larger boxes than they needed to be for some extra "cushion". Here's hoping to not needing the pictures and all though, and that everything goes smooth.

I do have some plans to possibly do some of the other stuff that doesn't require any of those 3 pieces (my sleeving should be here end of week I think). All my water cooling parts will be getting here today and tomorrow, so I'll be able to do mock ups and see where I want things. My new Noiseblocker eLoop fans get here as well, so I'm excited to see how they will turn out for front case fans. My second order from CaseLabs will also be here today (some small accessories, and CASTERS....why I didn't get them to begin with is beyond me, they will be so useful). I mean, I have about $1,800 worth of stuff getting here in the next day or 2, so plenty to do. thumb.gif So I can sleeve the fans, front panel stuff, lay out some of the cable management (non PSU stuff) mock up the rads, res and pump, and even do some mock tubing. I guess I can also go ahead and toss my Hydro Copper blocks on my 680's now (I can check PCIe functionality of the new board with my old GTX 460's).

I am also going to look at what I want to do with all the powder coating and painting. I need to send off my Lamptron bezel and side panels to Jim to get coated to match the exterior. I had intended to send him the PSU exterior, too, but that is on hold since I had to RMA it. I might just shoot that with the texture flat white rattle can I have and if it looks too bad because of how large it is (if the whites don't match well) then I'll just send if off after that. Once the MDPC is here I'm going to get some green paint matched to it too. I wish I still had my old pain sprayer. Maybe they can make me some that is water soluble, and I can use my Kirby Vacuum paint spray accessory lol. So yeah, plenty to keep me busy. tongue.gif

And in case I forget when it gets closer, Merry Christmas to everyone. santa.gif

I just received my large water cooling package from PPC's just now, and, as luck would have it, my UT60 480mm has a large dent on the end of it (the end without the fittings), so more RMA shipping to deal with. Yay... frown.gif That is just how things have been going for me so far upon receiving products for this build. On a positive note, everything else looks to be in good shape upon my initial inspection. I will try to post pictures as soon as I can (either tonight or over the weekend) of everything else I received, and probably some pictures of the dent in the UT60 480mm.

Sorry for all the problems. Just goes to show I'm not the only one with bad luck, lol. Looking forward to the pics.

Make sure you read my write up in the log about the pedestal and the Alphacool radiators if/when you decide to go with a pedestal.
