Picture Update!

I have installed my radiator with all 8 GT AP-15's. Still not sure if I want to paint the fans, as black and grey mesh fairly well with the color scheme. Even if I don't paint them, I already have mocked up some nice fan stickers on zazzle.com. I am just waiting until I decide on paining them or not before I order, as the colors would change depending if they get painted or not. I'm open to ideas/colors to paint them if anyone has any ideas. thumb.gif In case you notice, the fittings are not on the radiator for a reason for now. I thought I had completely dried out the inside of the radiator, but apparently not. I had a tiny bit of water drip onto the CPU block fittings and the GPU backplate, so I decided to just plug it until my Durelene gets here and I can fill it up. I am also not sure if I actually want to void the warranty on the PSU just to paint it, so maybe di-noc? I don't know what I am doing with that yet. I had originally said I would do it for sure, but I spent pretty much my entire budget on this rig now, so I would not be able to buy a replacement if any issues were to arise while opening it up. Thinking about it, but I'll let you all know. tongue.gif Anyways, picture time. Let me know what you think of the radiator and fans!

Let me know what you think! More updates will come this week when (hopefully) the last few parts get in. Once I get her up and running, all that would really be left, besides sleeving, is minor details and finishing touches.

That is one of the reasons I don't want to paint them. tongue.gif They are notoriously one of the worst fans to have to paint, and overdoing it can really throw off their weight displacement (more so than most any other fans). So doing ~2 light, but solid covering coats, on top of not having the retainer clips flying across the room. Luckily, a member here on OCN (Mandrix), had a good idea of taking the clips off while inside a plastic bag so if they did fly off, they would stay in the bag. A well placed magnet would do the trick too. Thanks for the compliments, Fuzzy. thumb.gif

I agree with Jeffinslaw...White for those fans.

One thing worth pointing out is the fan setup would mean negative air (pressure) flow in the case - dust issue. If this is the desired design.

Cheers.

It is merely there as a mock up at the moment. I haven't decided if I want to fight the whole "hot air rising" rule and make it an intake (although I am aware of the issues it presents). I am leaning towards just flipping it over though, and doing all intake. No harm in that. tongue.gif Thanks for looking out though, AVictorD. thumb.gif

As for the fans, if I do end up painting them, what do you all think? Black blades and white frame, or white blades and black frame? I think white frame might be overpowering, but when the case is closed, you cannot see the radiator at eye level, just the lower fans. Therefore, I feel like when it is closed up, it would be like I did no white painting there if I went with black frames. tongue.gif Ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Throw 'em my way fellas!
