[Build Log] Calamity (SM8/G1 Sniper 3 Water Cooled Build) - Page 34

White rotors and black frames will look fine, IMO.
You are going through the same things I thought I would have if I had bought the UP7 board like socketus has. You guys will pull it off, I'm sure. I'm about the last one to to coordinate colors beyond the basic black, white and blue. All I can say is what I like when I see it, I have absolutely poor color organizing skills.

I like them all, just not together either.

Im not sure if you are dead set on the sleeing color, but I would go two colors. white and green, or green and black. I think you have enough white in the build.

I applaud your efforts for color matching. Its one part of building that's takes some thought and patience. I will be honest and say for this one a neutral color for your fans would be better suited.
I'm sure you will find something that works. Good luck smile.gif

I messed with some spray painting on the fans again today in the little time I did have (kid was home sick, so it wasn't all that much). I tried "blending" multiple colors to get almost a lemon lime 2 tone color (I used 3 different green paints, but no yellows, so I was extremely happy with how it turned out), which I think looks nifty. It is harder to see in the pictures without a lot of saturation in them, so you will see a picture I post that that looks too "shiny". That one is just there so you can kind of see the 2 tones that I see in person. The other shot is of the fan next to the sleeving for color match comparison (which is almost identical to the coolant color so you can imagine how all 3 would look together). Let me know what you think! I'm trying to be more creative so I can get the fans the way I want. thumb.gif

As for the color match between the green sleeving and the fan blade, remember to look at the right edge of the front green sleeve, as the lighting isn't spot on in these pictures (nighttime so I had to go with the kitchen fluourescent light which reflects a lot) do the top part of the sleeving has light beaming right into it which makes it appear lighter than it should. thumb.gif

This one is with less saturation, and the closest I can get to "normal" at the moment.

This is the one that I have here just to try and showcase the multicolor "blending" I tried out (so I already know how over saturated the picture looks tongue.gif).

Let me know what you all think of the progress so far!

Thanks, AVictorD! Now the problem comes in replicating this result....for probably about 16-20 fans lol. tongue.gif It is a total of 2 full coats (1 base flat white and 1 flat key lime), and then 3 coats of light misting (of 3 different greens) to get it to look like this. I'm doing it to myself though, but why take the easy way out right? When you want it the way you want it, you gotta be willing to do the work! I'll try my hand at doing the back of the blade, and then doing a few more of the crappy cheapo spare fans I have laying around to see if I can get them all to match. If I can manage ~3 to look good together then I may just go ahead and knock it out this week/weekend. thumb.gif

That definitely looks a lot better than the baby food version of peas that you had going on earlier. Huge thumb.gif's up!

Nice going Add!

I had a guess you did not want to stop until it was resolved. Nature of the beast..
