[Build Log] Calamity (SM8/G1 Sniper 3 Water Cooled Build) - Page 7

Yeah, I figured as much, and had already thought about going that way instead after looking at my diagram again. However, the new problem seems to be acquiring all the Bitspower fittings in white...I cannot for the life of me find the Deluxe White Mini Valve or the Deluxe White G1/4" Temp Sensor Stop Plug in the US ANYWHERE. All I can find is some Australian store that doesn't ship out of country. I sent cpachris a PM though, hopefully he can point me in the direction he took to get his all white fittings. I really don't want to have to do black fittings. I think white rads, white fittings with green coolant will look a LOT better. there is enough black on the fittings with the logo's to accent it just fine, without being too much IMO. thumb.gif I did contact Bitspower directly through email today though, so maybe I can just get them factory direct.

Having the ability to just melt a little of the sleeve and go shrinkless is another big benefit. Plastic is a good thing.

I didn't mean to speak negatively about MDPC earlier. It's just the paracord feels nicer in my mind. Maybe that's the issue I have with MDPC in my head, I have never had it in my hands and can't imagine it as well with what it would look like and what the texture of it would feel like.
I have looked at some of the threads for sleeving specifically and seen that Nils' stuff is pretty shiny. The pros of MDPC are starting to out way the cons now. And vice versa for Paracord.
I especially like the thought of MDPC-X sleeving being more rigid.
Again I'm sorry if I used a negative context. Hopefully no harm no foul. worriedsmiley.gif

I felt the same way once. I got started with paracord, but I did not like the "looseness" of the cables and switched to MDPC. Still, it's a matter of choice and for some it just gets down to color matching.
Yeah there is definitely a scarcity of Bitspower white fittings. Wish they would do the rotaries in white.....NO! I can't afford to replace all my fittings!
I did order some of the white fill/passthrough fittings. Just couldn't resist......the Alphacool ones I have are functional, of course, but the Bitspower ones just look better. But for me that goes with all their fittings, I think they look better than most stuff out there. You can make a loop with what's available at PPC-s & frozen but I really like compression rotaries for looks and for minimum flow reduction. I don't use hard 90's anywhere in my rigs except drains. I know Chris does but he's got like a hundred pumps. tongue.gif

No worries m8. I felt the same way before I ordered MDPC and used it! I just want to enlighten folks if I can. smile.gif

Either way both will make your PC look great!

Of course not! Just wanted to throw my two cents in. I ordered sleeving from lots of different companies when I was starting...and chose MDPC-X after seeing them all and playing with them all. Order a sample...you'll see why people here like it so much.

No one really took it that way, I am sure Chris was just trying to help by giving both sides of the equation when it comes to sleeving. Keep having fun with the rig though, that is all that matters! I hope you make it into your dream machine. thumb.gif

Tell me about it. I did notice rotaries though, and looks like if I do order through Bitspower directly now, my order is going to be bigger than I thought. Time to empty the wallet! On a side note, I may end up ordering a pedestal, as the more I look into ordering, the more I am going to run out of room! Thoughts? How much did you like working with the pedestal Mandrix? I am contemplating putting in a 3rd GTX 680 Hydro, so I might "need" the extra rad room for more overheard to OC with 3-Way SLI. tongue.gif

Your 2cents.gif are always more than appreciated around here, Chris. thumb.gif

Off topic: Hopefully I will be dabbling in some sleeving this weekend if I can fit in some time between prepping for my finals. If not, mid next week I am done with school, and go focus big time on the build! (Outside of family and holiday requirements, of course) thumb.gif

Edit: I want everyone's thoughts on something I have been discussing with Jim over at CaseLabs. I contemplated just getting my order done with the interior frame as white, but having all the exterior panels in matte black. Thoughts? I am thinking it might look quite nice, and would tie in nicely with my Green/Black/White them (It might even require a little less painting on my fans tongue.gif). Let me know what you all think! thumb.gif

I think it will look great. You mentioned you wanted your components to really pop out, and having a white interior, regardless of exterior color, will definitely accomplish that. For the exterior, I would say go with whatever fits your theme and workspace the best. If you don't think there will be enough black between your mobo, psu, gpu, etc. or that it will be overwhelmed by white, go for the black exterior.

I'm planning to do just the opposite - white exterior with black interior. I want my black components to blend in with the case, and light it with just a few white LEDs to make the white tubing stand out. Then the white exterior simply complements the black interior and white tubing nicely, not too mention fits very well with my white desk

If you haven't seen asg's build log....check it out. That is exactly what he did...and it looks great.

I thought about doing that too with the white and black but with black inside and white outside Much like the 600T I think its a good idea.

Thoughts on just the parts I outlined (Inside half of the motherboard tray, and the divider on both sides basically) being matte white, and the rest of the case being matte black? I almost wish there wasn't this many options lol. It is making hard to decide 100% (especially since I can only think about what it looks like, as there are no real pictures of the few mix and match schemes I had in mind).

Also thinking the other way would be just make the pci area (second half of the motherboard tray) and the flex bay stuff white in addition to what I have outlined. That way inside only the top and bottm (and a little bit of the back) would be black. Just enough contrast maybe?
