[Build Log] 600T-Acrylic Bending- Formerly Vanilla Royale. - Page 21

I think the pump mounting is pretty tight. In my opinion, it makes it a bit more even, considering all the tubing is as straight as possible (of course it's bent.. but it's bent at either end if possible, not one large smooth curve)

It looks awesome.

What're you going to run in it, just Distilled water and Silver?

Thanks man. I am just going to run dist water and coil for now. Still waiting for a few small things. Then I will run Mayhems Pure black pastel.

Acrylics all cleaned and ready to be put in.

Alright so started filling the loop and sprung a leak.

The outlet fitting on the pump had a broken o-ring. Probably from ripping out some stuck acrylic.

Found a bunch of nearly the same o=rings but even a little bigger so it made a tight fit.

All filled up for now.

Thats all for now. I will be filling with pastel black. I just need one more stop fitting and a black wire grill to finish the build.

That's very cool what you've done with this build. If I hadn't followed the log, I would never have known by looking at these last pics the changes this build has gone thru ! thumb.gif

Nicely done Solonowarion!!! Not sure if I'd recommend any Mayhems dye though, especially black, after what Tom Logan went through. His "oil black" looked like hot chocolate after 3 months (or less).

that's gorgeous.
The refraction the water offers is awesome.

This is Tom Logan's build Orca, which I think he used Mayhem's dye in.

He mention it in this video, but it's a long video to watch that covers all sorts of things, not just that debacle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMeVKSrVqRQ

Short story: he even consulted Mayhems before using the dye, used the tubing they recommended, etc. Orca was a memorial build for his late Mom, so he took a lot of steps to ensure it was as perfect as it could be. When it went from oil black to hot chocolate very quickly (~3 months IIRC), the main Mayhems guy basically blamed it all on him, without any solid reasoning. Based on that debacle alone, I'd never use that guys products, but that's just me.

Thanks guys. Since I have it I may just try it, The acrylic tubing might not affect it the same. If it does not work out Ill just drain and use something.
