Thinking about upgrading

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about making some upgrades to my sig rig, but I'm not sure if now is the right time. I think my video cards are fine for at least a year, but I'm starting to fall behind with everything else, or rather I'm already behind. So my question is if now is the right time to switch over to intel or should I wait a bit. I don't plan on overclocking I just want a stable build that I don't have to worry about.

What do you do with your computer?
Its never the right time and its always the right time. Its a double edge sword.

What do you want your upgraded PC to do that your current PC is not able to?

I guess I'm pretty happy with it for the most part, but I would love to get an SSD and not be limited to SATA 2.0 speeds. To do that, I'd have to get a new Motherboard, RAM, and I might as well get a CPU with it.

You should wait till haswell as we should expect to see at least a 10% performance boost plus various boosts to power efficiency which include power saving features and a lower TDP. It's doubtful that haswell is going to be what sandy bridge was to westmere but intel may amaze us again.

If you have the money to do it then do it. If not, get a nice Samsung 840 Pro SSD and benefit while you wait for Haswell. Realize though this isn't until June at the latest. If you can't wait, upgrade now. If your computer is doing everything you want it to do right now, then by all means wait.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to wait for Haswell, but pick up an 840 pro now.
