I'm about to go crazy. 1500-1800$ Build.

Hi guys, been lurking the forum for a while now and I'm building a new pc.

BUT... I'm about to go crazy. I want to use that pc for everything. I need a good processor and 16gb ram cause I multitask a lot (blue-ray burns, about 30-40 chrome tabs, some basic video encoding, gaming, some bitcoin mining and stuff)

I can go up to 2k but it's preferable not to. So I tried to do my homeworks and build myself the best all-rounder I can but I need some help.

I think I read about 200 reviews the past 2weeks ( on mobos, gpus, cooling and so on...).

So many different opinions meh. I'm a bit tired of all this so I will follow the suggestions in this thread, order the parts and live with it, otherwise ill spend 2 months building it lol.

Oh and before I post the parts I already bought, I want this build to be Silent since this will not be a stricly gaming pc and I will sleep next to it.
Also want a 4.5ghz 0/C

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($329.99 @ NCIX)
Storage: Samsung 830 Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($224.98 @ NCIX)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ NCIX)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.99 @ NCIX)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
Total: $749.95
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-12-04 21:27 EST-0500)

Those are the parts I bought so far.

They were fairly easy to choose and the reviews were all good.

I just can't choose a motherboard, so complicated. Samething for psu and gpu and cooler.

Noctua nhd-14 or corsair h100 for a silent O/C to 4.5 ghz ??

I'm canadian so preferably ncix or directcanada for shopping plz

Damn guys thats a lot of text, hope you guys can help me.

Thank you

P.S so 1k remaining for the other parts wink.gif

Motherboards dont really affect performance, they are all about what features you want, so thats ultimately up to you thumb.gif We'll leave that at the bottom of my list

I would suggest a gtx 670 for this build, and an h100i. That would bring you to about 1260$. Both coolers will easily bring you to 4.5, but the h100i may be cooler. (And literally looks cooler/cleaner)

This leaves 540$ for the rest. PSU depends on gpu config, but a 750 watt one will be able to do all that plus another gtx 670 for sli. I suggest corsair series psu's, but what ever floats your boat. Just get one with a trusted name and not an off brand type. The hx is 130 on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010. This leaves 410$ for the rest.

Lastly for motherboards, this is an all around great budget one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157330
For durability (Most suggested)-: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821
For awesome-sauce gaming and features: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131854
Ultimately just looks for ones with a trusted name that have the features you want for a reasonable price smile.gif

This gives you tons of lee-way for whatever you want in your pricepoint. Im sure that if you were to cut back on somthing like the cooler and get the lesser of the motherboards, you could get another gtx 670 in there for sli. Good luck!

Good luck!

Also: completely forgot memory. Corsair will go a long way for a great price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345

Also, I'm assuming you already have a monitor/mouse/keyboard?

As for which GTX 670, I can reccomend the Gigabyte Windforce x3, but the EVGA FTW version has had a lot of great feedback.

No prob. Heres a build with 2 way sli, you can do it under budget but just look at different motherboards for what you want in terms of functionality, dont let me dictate biggrin.gif Also, I had to downgrade the h100i to an evo for it to be under budget. You can still hit above 4.2 on it.

If you want to hit 4.5GHz the 3770K is a bit of a gamble unless you make a nice liquid cooling loop (they have cheap internal thermal compound and usually run hot). I'd recommend the 2600K or 2700K since a decent amount have been known to hit 4.8-5GHz. Other than that I recommend Gigabyte or AsRock for your motherboard, I highly suggest you get some Samsung "wonder RAM", look into a 7950 or 7970 from Sapphire or Gigabyte for your graphics card, go with SeaSonic or Corsair for your power supply, and get a full tower case if you fit it into your budget. You'll thank yourself. Some good ones are the NZXT Switch 810, Corsair 800D, Cooler Master HAF X, and Cooler Master Storm Trooper.

The h100 will be fine for 4.5GHz.

Somone in the delidded group has run his IB at 5.5 with an h100. That's amazing even for a delidded chip.
