Dell U3011 2560x1600 issue

Thread Starter
I just picked up a Dell U3011 and my desktop wont let me run 2560x1600 on it.

I have a Asus TOP DUII 7970
I am running the 12.11 beta drivers
The proper dual DVI cord from dell
Windows 8 pro full version.

The max res I can set it 1900x1200, the recommended res says 1600x1200
What am i missing here?

Did you use the dual link dvi? and does the card have a dual link dvi?

Yes I just found that out as well. I moved the monitor over to the second DVI and nothing changed. I am in the slot furthest away from the MOBO. I am going to restart and see if they helps.

Sorry for my ignorance originally I thought the card had 2 dual link.

This didn't seem to work. I actually was in the correct slot all along. The closest slot TOO the MOBO is correct according to the diagram on the card, and also online I found.

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX37603 (shows the DVI slots clearly)

Im actually running this beside 2 other dell 24" my desk couldn't hold 3 30s and my video card would probably get crushed as well.

Can i Run this with the Display port I have? Seems to say its 2560x1600? is there any downside to that? It looks like a HDMI cord but it isnt.
