Although this is not a big deal for me, I still do get tired from DICE/EA lying and giving us mediocre products. They went from a great company to being EA's bi...

Anyone else feel that gaming 5-20years ago was better? Not all DLC's, expansions, micro payments and not everybody trying to copy Call of Doody..

I feel like it started going downhill when the current generation of consoles became really popular (which is 5 or so years ago, give or take). PC games started getting crappier IMO

That said, it probably won't get better in the future, considering the DLC, micro payments, etc business model makes tons of money for the publisher.

After running behind it while being shot? That's just a byproduct of the internet, not much they can do about that. You see it happen all the time in the COD series as well.

You either get a delay of death on the player's screen getting shot, or "bad hit registration" on the shooter's side. Can't really "win" in this issue, it's lose/lose for the developer.

Every time you die behind cover, it's because he got enough bullets into you before you went into cover on his screen. Sounds about right to me.

Client Side hit detection. This will never change. Equal latency between players can reduce this but it will always be there.

Server Side hit detection eliminates the "bending bullets" but it introduces bullet delay. Red Orchestra 2 uses this system.
Both systems work well in good conditions and both have their challenges. Fast shooters tend to like the Client side system more.

There is literally nothing they could add in terms of weapons to the game at this point that would make it a better game in anyway. What they need to do is focus on balancing wht they currently have.

God knows that is dificult when you have near 100 weapons in a game but that should w/o a doubt be where the priority is. I was a pretty avid player at one point and I absolutely adored BF3's multi but they really need to give people areason to stop using the M16 over everything else in the game. I have 10k + kills with it and nearly 3.5 kills per minute with it so I know it pretty well. Even with the nerfs it's combination of low reload time/TTK/easy recoil just makes it far and away still the best weapon in the game.

And I might also add that nerfing it probabally won't fix it. What they need to do is bring the rest of the weapons up to it's level otherwise you are just going to make it useless and we don't want that either.

EA/DICE are not lying about their products:

20 new weapons... that's all it says. They delivered on that promise.

10 weapons on B2K, and 10 weapons on Close Quarters. That satisfies that criteria.


I hate that people think EA promised 5 new weapons per expansion. That promise was not made. They promised 20 new weapons and new vehicles, and they delivered. If you bought BF3 premium, you got what you paid for, and you're still getting what you paid for. What you do with it is up to you. Personally, I've logged some 200+ hours on BF3, so I think I got my money's worth out of it. It's a fun game (to me at least.)

Guaranteed if anyone tries to start a class action lawsuit against EA/DICE for "lost content" it will surely fail. They have delivered exactly what they promised. rolleyes.gif

This is called latency. It is the nature of all online shooters, it happens in COD and it happens in BF.

Accept that 50-100ms of latency is typical and plan to be in cover a tenth of a second early... then, profit.


Also- all the weapons are 99% the same: http://symthic.com/ if they added more weapons like they promised they would only be more of the same crap. It's pretty simple:

Bullet hits body, body dies.
Bigger bullet hits body, body dies *slightly* faster.

These other details, like the m16 being over powered, or at one point the famas being over powered don't exist.... they hardly mean a thing.... I can do just as well with a 1st 2nd or 3rd score, running 4+ k/d with a m16 as I do with a m39 or a m249 or a ump45 .... it all comes down to tactics, knowing your role, knowing choke points, where people are going to be exposing themselves, knowing when to retreat and when to advance, and of course- communication.
