Those probably were accurate. AMD did release a performance driver for Far Cry 3 since though. The [H] benchmark uses the most up to date drivers from both camps.

Well guys, just for fun i did a heaven benchmark. EVERYTHING At its fullest. Extreme tesellation 8xAA anisotrophy 16x. The highest temperature my graphic card has reached is 67 degrees celsius. This is a 7950 Gigabyte. I would assume it's safe to say that overclocking wise the 7950 destroys the 660ti. In fact, i think at the speeds my card is running it's close to a 7970 or even a 7970 OC. So yeah... For the rest i will reserve judgement.

My score here:

Stats: 1150/1550

Farcry 3 with HDAO has the best image quality and is faster on HD 7970 Ghz. hardocp explains the image quality settings. look at PCGH, gamegpu and hardocp

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Far-Cry-3-PC-217540/Tests/Far-Cry-3-Test-Grafikkarten-CPU-Benchmarks-1036726/ (310.64 beta vs 12.11 beta 11)

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/12/05/far_cry_3_video_card_performance_preview/2 (310.70 beta vs 12.11 beta 11)

Ultra, HDAO, Enhanced A2C, 4x MSAA is playable at 1080p but at 1600p barely playable. maybe a HD 7970 Ghz at 1250 - 1300 Mhz can play those settings at 1600p.

Alot of argueing is more about how this review was done i think then if the card is faster then a 7950 and the system not being setup right on the 7950 like look at these 2 reviews. In skyrim the 7950 is getting 84-86fps compared to only getting 69 in the review from tech with what looks like the same settings. But the 660ti is only off by 1-2fps so it really looks like the drivers were screwed up or they used old ones claiming they were new.

You won't even entertain a possibility that doesn't fit with what you believe, will you?

What part of "highest possible in-game settings" is confusing? I love how you tout the Techspot review that shows the AMD cards to advantage, but the Techspot review that shows Nvidia ahead is obviously wrong in some way.

even when there is tons of evidence from website reviews to OCN user benches comparing both cards at same clocks it does not matter to a few people. HD 7950 is on avg 5% slower than HD 7970. the diff varies between 3 - 7% depending on game. majority of games are 5% or lesser. believe what you want to. thumb.gif
