Bit-Tech posted a review of that same 660Ti earlier today on older drivers and Windows 7.

Not sure why they'd bother with a review using 12.8 and 306 drivers at this point, given the gains both the 12.11 and 310s bring. And Crysis 2 and Witcher 2?

wait people are still bickering here?

12.11 driver
7970ghz > GTX 680
7970 > 670
7950 > 660ti
7870 > 660
7850 > 650ti
7770 >650
7750 > 640

And that's just the way it is, today. Amd has a solid win this round. There is no sense debating it further. Not only are these cards faster in games, but stomp all over the Nvidia cards in compute. I don't care about the past, this is right now. Overall even with Nvidia had a lead it was short lived. Amd came out with their cards first, which smacked around nividia then, Nvidia releases their new cards more or less ties Amd's cards. Amd makes adjustment with ghz 7970. Amd publishes Never Settle Drivers and that was all she wrote Nvidia.

I bought a 7950, i had the choice of a 670 for more $$ at the time of purchase. MY 7950 is clocked to 1100 core/1460mem runs cool and quiet. Runs faster than a 670 thanks to the 12.11 drivers. I am glad i made the right choice.

Why does that matter? The first generation of Bulldozer turned out to be weaker than K10 per clock, and even with their high clocks they didn't exactly beat out their Phenom II predecessors without a significant overhead in frequency. A 920 clocked in at 4GHz is still a huge step above a FX-6100.

i7 920 is ancient. Still Clock for Clock it's faster then anything AMD has.

those PileDriver/Bulldozer chips are good for multi thread work loads not for gaming.

Who cares about CPU's or which one is better. I posted the benchmarks to show the GPU score of a 7950 at a OC of 1250/1600 wich according to HWbot is average OC for that card. It hardly wins against the 670 was the point, despite what that one guy posted of a overly inflated 7950 score, which I only can assume had a massive overclock, and was a golden card.

What are you talking about a 7950 @ 1250-1300mhz should be pushing Around 10k in 3dmark 11. Even I get 10.8K, and I have seen Single 7970's score higher then that with overclocks.
You forget that with turbo the Nvidia cards are running near 200+mhz higher then the AMD counter parts, with overclocking involved that difference gets much narrower. AMD cards simply just can get faster, nothing you can do to get around that fact.
