exactly.

Dude really? you own neither.... the rest of the guys may have a say but you only try to instigate between members and even got told to shut it down by a moderator, so dont act like that bro.

Also, you right i have been saying the same thing, that does not justify you making personal attacks, like you have, and being rude and disrespectful. Read the ToS you tend to break it every time you post.

My card is crap then why does it beats the pants of off what you have? Must not be too shabby.....

Anyways as I said before sorry guys for reading the 3dmark11 wrong I feel like a schmuck. lol 7950 is a bigger beast than I give it credit for. Id make the switch to prepare for crysis 3 but I also fold so I need the PPD.

12303 at 1325?
Average OC is 1250?
(12303 / 1325) * 1250 = 11606
1150?
(12303 / 1325) * 1150 = 10602
and so on.

Who knows. I'll check in the morning. You guys are getting abit out of hand.

Probably not linear though. You'd need a lower score to get another endpoint.

Oh I very much doubt it's linear, but it's also not linear in the 7950's favor. The scaling would get worse the faster it gets, so lower clock speeds would be higher in score then what you would get my doing the simple equation.

It is, however, "good enough" for what we're doing which is general comparison, and I'm not too interested in making an equation that can pinpoint a 3DMark score a GPU will get. Within 1-200 points is good enough for me.

i own a HD 6950 2GB. why would you compare your card with mine which is a last gen card. the discussion is HD 7950 boost vs GTX 660 Ti. not everybody needs to own a HD 7950 to know about or speak about it. instigate between members. what kind of crap is that. you want a face-off . you got it. sonda5 posted his scores. bruennis has posted his scores.

here is bruennis Gigabyte HD 7950 at 1280 Mhz running heaven 3.0 extreme. stock windforce3x cooler

here is sonda5 running Sapphire HD 7950 at 1325 Mhz running 3D Mark 11 Xtreme . watercooling

try and get close to that with GTX 660 Ti. rolleyes.gif

If you are happy with your GTX 660 Ti good for you. but don't come here expecting others to agree to the crap that GTX 660 Ti can compete with HD 7950 boost even at stock. lets not talk about overclocked performance cause it gets ugly for the GTX 660 Ti. biggrin.gif

Why do you keep making this claim? At stock the cards are very close, it is only when overclocked that the 7950 pulls ahead to any significant degree.

The 7950 Boost is faster overclocked, but out of the box they are very close, and the 660 Ti beats the non-boost card out of the box.
No, at stock they are very close.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Catalyst_12.11_Performance/23.html

the same review with higher setting Ultra and 4x MSAA shows HD 7950 boost faster than GTX 660 Ti. funny you want to ignore higher quality settings. also techspot tested with SSAO. the lowest quality ambient occlusion method in Farcry 3. HDAO is the highest ambient occlusion setting in Farcry 3. gamegpu has a stock HD 7950 at 800 Mhz matching GTX 660 Ti. needless to say the HD 7950 boost is faster. drivers are 310.70 beta vs 12.11 beta 11. latest game patches 1.01 and 1.02 installed.

is it ? go and read a few recent reviews first. AMD's HD 7950 boost is an official product since late August and is the price competitor for GTX 660 Ti. matches GTX 670 at stock at 1080p and is faster at 1600p.

there are many OCN GTX 670 users who gracefully agree the HD 7950 boost matches GTX 670 at stock and is faster when both cards are overclocked. But some people just love being in denial rolleyes.gif

And at those settings both cards were getting ~30 fps. Who cares which card wins at unplayable framerates? Do we make a big deal if the 7970 gets 3 FPS at some crazy resolution to the 2 FPS of the GTX 680? At playable frame rates, the two cards are very close.

All of your arguments basically boils down to - they don't test in a way that makes the 7950 superior, so the testing they did isn't valid/correct.
