do you have a budget. the MSI HD 7970 Lightning is a good option if you can afford it. but its only suitable for 1080p monitor due to 2 single link DVI ports. For 1440p monitor you have to get mini displayport to dual link DVI adapter or you need a displayport monitor.

This. Sapphire makes one of the best 7970s, the other good 7970 is the MSI 7970 Lightning. You have to decide how much you want to spend. If you want the GHz edition, then you will obviously pay more because it's a more expensive card.

Sapphire 7970 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008 ) $379.99
Sapphire 7970 GHz edition ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202001 ) $439.99

I would suggest going for a 7950 it is only 3-5% lower in performance than a 7970. It will also increase the amount of cards you can choose from since you will be have a large budget for a 7950. If you overclock a 7950 to 1.1 Ghz core it will be better than a reference gtx680 given the current drivers 12.11 smile.gif

I am only suggesting this because I am going to CF 7950s wink.gif
