Multiple Monitors Radeon 7950

Thread Starter
I'm new to this and looking to run 3 19inch monitors on a 7950. I will mostly be gaming. My question is how would I go about running 3 displays off this one card.

Not sure which aspect of it you need help on. You would just plug them in and CCC would help you from there.

You probably need some mini-displayport adapters, too.

It depends on your monitor's connectors - most likely HDMI or DVI. You will need at least one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999034 - make sure that it's an active adapter. One monitor will be DVI, the next will be HDMI or HDMI->DVI using an adapter, and the last will be MiniDP->DVI using an adapter.

You can do it several ways but no matter which way youll need at least one display port adapter unless your monitors have display port inputs, you can hook them up as follows.

Option 1
1st - DVI
2nd - HDMI
3rd - mini display port adapter to DVI

or

Option 2
1st - DVI
2nd - mini display port adapter to DVI
3rd - mini display port adapter to DVI

I personally did option 2 to allow my HDMI port to still be used for my TV

The adapters I used are linked below and just plug right into the 2 mini display ports and then plug your DVI cables into them. The rest is all setup thru CCC which is pretty easy to follow.

Hopefully this helps!

Convert everything to DVI for the least headaches.

Btw, mismatched resolutions are not supported so I'm not sure I would try to match the panels you have. You will not be happy with the results.
