7970 bios problems and screen malfunctions?

Problem One:
I bought a diamond 7970 used of amazon, mostly because I wanted to save $50 and was feeling cheap-I am now starting to regret it, maybe... The first thing wrong with this card is the fact that MSI afterburner views the card as "MSI 7970 Lightning" when my card is a "Diamond 7970" And this mistake happens when the card is in either bios setting (1 or 2) and with drivers 12.8-12.11(beta). The other part of this issue is that with every game I play, with or without vsync, and with low-ultra resolution settings (all at 1920x1080) I get major artifacts. This card by default is clocked at a 7970Ghz clocks, and even if I down clock it to even 925 and 1375 respectively, Artifacts appear regardless. I have uninstalled all drivers, and even went as far as to use driver sweeper to clean out anything residual. Alas, I have yet to have any luck.

Problem Two:
The second issue is a screen issue. Before I made the switch to a 7970, I was using 2 GTX 550ti in SLI (physx on CPU) I run 2 monitors, one Asus brand and the other 1920x1080, the Asus running from HDMI and the AOC on DVI. For 2 years I NEVER had any problems. Today, however, after I had installed my 7970 and loaded drivers, I experienced my Asus screen blacking out in games such as Dead Space 2 and Crysis, while the other screened remained perfectly fine. I only experienced this in game when I backed out to game menu, immediately my whole screen would fade black. for those of you who have Steam, I would regain visibility of my screen when I would Shift:Tab to open Steam's menu, and upon closing it I would once again loose screen visibility.

IF anyone knows how or WHAT is going on here, I would very much appreciate any help, knowledge, advice or instruction on what to do for either of these situations.

You bought a used card. If it didn't come as stock, which it doesn't read like it did, then return it. What are you waiting for?

The card reads like it's been flashed cuz you know Amazon doesn't sell a Diamond Ghz card.
