Experience bad things with windows 8

Thread Starter
Has anyone experience bad things with windows 8 upgrade that you download from ms for 39.99 ?

1.After installation my GUI goes right to desktop and all the time when i reboot (thought is was not suppose to go to desktop it should be metro screen)
2.I have all certified windows 8 drivers and some seem fine installing then there not actually working proper
3.I load a DVD and I see it shows 3 time in windows explorer (drive E:/F:/G:)
4. Windows updates after installing and reboot fail revert sitting at screen for 20 mins revert back

Strange I did burn windows 8 ISO to DVD and a USB and installed the OS fresh onto a SSD.

I'm in Windows 7 and runs super.

I have no experienced that.

I am still running on the release preview and I only installed once as a fresh install...My Internet explorer does not work outside of the Metro style UI. It just crashes out.

Now My wife's PC running the same preview with another fresh install runs fine. without the IE issues.

I chalk it up to new OS...New bugs...Maybe try doing a partial wipe on your SSD with DBAN prior to installing Win8.

This is what I did on my Wife's rig since she had Linux on it previously and the GRUB boot loader would not go away.

Just download DBAN and let it run on the disk until about 10% then start a new install.

Don't know why it would help besides giving you a truly clean slate, but I cannot see how it would hurt either.

Hope this helps,
