Same here.

No video games or internet (unless it was for school) during monday-thursday during the school year.

Summer I had to be outside doing something whenever I could and it wasn't raining.

No TV in my bedroom, forced into bedroom by 9pm. Only option for entertainment was to read or study.

That was up until high school when my parents decided I could be trusted to manage my time.

OT: I think this is great. I would gladly pay 2.99 a month if I had a kid to use this.

Yeah I moved out, NO RULES PARTY TIME.

Anyways this does seem like a good thing for parents to give kids. I never really thought of giving kids kindles.

I would like to know too. Cartoon Network!

There were a few good Nickelodeon shows but they've stopped showing them, unfortunately.

Kindles are perfect for this due to the profiles and parental controls. You can schedule how much access they get and keep them out of stuff you don;t want them in.

I'm not a parent but honestly I would not be to worried. Kids entertainment nowadays is ridiculously over regulated. If it has been deemed kids friendly then its pretty much guaranteed to be all fluff, rainbows and happy time. If anything I'd be more worried what all that fluff does to kids.
