Me, Again - New build need a psu

Hey all ...

I am just about finished ordering my cousin a rig for him to do some HD video editing on and I need some advice on which PSU to get ...

He will be using

MSI Z77-GD65
i7 3770k with a mild overclock
24gb DDR3 @ 1866mhz
GTX 570

2 BD rewriters
Raid SSD's
3x 2TB storage drives
4x 200mm fans
1x 140mm fan

I was thinking he needs a min of a 650w as those 570's are pretty power hungry if I remember correctly ...

What do you think ? ...

Some options I found -

Corsair TX650W v2 (or 650m if he wants to spend a bit more)
be quiet! Straight Power E9 CM 680w
Antec EA-650 Earthwatt Platinum

All information would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

Anything above 600 more than sufficient. And if it was me, i would choose a SeaSonic PSU any day !!! Just that simple !!!

550/600W will be fine for this build.

The Be Quiet! PSU is nice choice, you can also lower to the 580W model which will be fine, but it all depends on the price those PSUs and offered for.

What website are you buying from?

Also checkout the FAQ: Recommended Power Supplies. The list is very complete and every single PSU that's written here will be a good unit.

for your system a descent 650w psu will be enough even with oc
i would recommend the corsair tx 650w v2 or even the corsair hx 650w modular ( if money is not a problem )

I am from South Africa so I am using ... www.rebeltech.co.za ... and the 3 PSU's I listed are basically the same price bracket ...

We do not have access to seasonic here ... at least not that I have ever seen ...

If he plans on running a second 570 ... what would the requirements then become ?

the tx 650w is one of the best psu for the money and it's very reliable
if your planning on going sli then you'll need a descent 750 w psu (seasonic \ corsair\ antec ..)

You have some very nice options there., for a single card setup go with a Thermaltake XT 575/675, or if you intend to add a second card go with the BeQuiet! P10 750, it's an excellent high end unit at a reasonable price considering the pricing of competing units at that particular shop.
