Asus Sabertooth X79, High VRM temp

Thread Starter
So, i have recently installed a H100i cooler, and it seems like the radiator/fans are blocking the VRM heatsink, so the airflow from the sidedoor in my case wont reach the heatsink on the VRM's.

I run a 3930k @ 4.8Ghz/1.392v, and the CPU is reacing 80c on the highest core in Prime95, but the VRM temp from Asus Thermal Radar do worry me a bit.

Under Prime95, the temp reach as high as 95c, and the heatsink is really hot to touch. How much heat do this take exactly? does enyone KNOW?

Any settings that affect VRM temp more then others in BIOS?

LLC probably affects VRM temps the most after CPU Vcore.

It's ok considering how power hungry LGA2011 CPUs are. I had very hot heatsink on my previous build that lasted 4+ years and it probably still works for a new owner.

It's suggested to cool LGA2011 VRMs and air cooler's airflow does the job, but with water cooling you better find a way to move some air in there if you want lower temps.

Ok thanks.

However, i bought a 70mm fan (CoolJag Everflow ) with good airpressure, and was able to lower the VRM temp to 76c.
