Cable gutter ready.

My cables going in to the pedestel from above. I dont want a spagetti mess off wires al over the place.
So i went to the shop this evening to search for a item i can use for my cables. I have seen a few nice custom cover for the wires of a TV set. cost 24 euro . I did not take it.
Instead i got me a mini gutter 65 mm 2 meter long for 7,99 euro. The only thing is it is brown. So when all the holes are in and the mounting screws are in i think i paintspray it black. The hight of the cable gutter is 2 cm. And plenty of room to let go the wires in any direction i want.

No i dont aspect rain in my case biggrin.gif
I think i get another piece for behind the cables of my desk.

6,5 cm x 4,5 high and 2 meter long.

In the sides of the original one there are on both sides a sort of prest in edge. I used that line to cut 2 cm off on both sides.

Now the cover is 2 cm high in the middle.

Measuring out the spot where the power cables com tru and cut a piece out.

I used a connector to mark the measurement of the hole to cut out.

Almost al the holes are made for the cables from the Aquero's and Icy Docks.

Tommorow i take my time to see how to screw it on to the ceiling of the pedestel.
Mayby 2 bolds m3 upside down (second glue) and two m3 nuts below. Yes that i wil do..thumb.gif

You can read my mind.
thought about making a bending mall. At the right and left side a wooden block drilling holes in it an pushing tubes tru it. So you only have to heat up. The thing is i had no acrylic laying 64,5 cm long. Ha ha just had a order for 5 pices 132 euro again.
But the thing with the leds... Ahum "You got my atention".

Thanks

Well we're all on the same wavelength because the acrylic idea I was also thinking. I started on a short cable run out of clear square acrylic rod, but then I flipped the motherboard tray and didn't need it anymore so I didn't finish it.
What my plan was to use the tablesaw or router to make many cuts into the square rod to make an opening the length of the rod, and I was going to use screws to attach to the case.

Are you guys talking about lighting up the cable pass-through channel? If that's the case, that might not look too good with clear acrylic, since it's just a bunch of cables in a tube. Maybe frosted acrylic would be a better choice? Forgive me if I misunderstood what's going on here. smile.gif

Nah, the clear acrylic was my idea. I have some clear square rod laying around I was going to use until I decided to flip the mobo and so didn't need it. But It's easy enough to frost.wink.gif
