Darlene (IT Diva) wrote some stuff in my log a few days ago about led's in general and resistance, I'm not an expert on them I just use the recommended resistor for each one.
I'm running some led's off my FC8 fan controller. I buy single led's and resistors lately and solder them in myself and put a 3 pin fan plug on the end.
For my RGB led's that are plugged into the Aquaeros I don't have any resistors because they are already in the Aquaero.

Jack Russel's are hyper little dogs. I have a Boston Terrier/Miniature Doberman mix that is my lil' buddy, and she can be pretty hyper sometimes. She does like her frisbee.....pretty good at catching it most of the time.

Yes hyper when she see a cat and jump a meter high to catch it.

just finished the last harnes for the fans. Just cleanup the office a bit "wife happy again".

Testing one two testing one two!

Early up today because i need som explanations why why.
Al things in place "pedestel on its side and bottom coverplate out ". connected the old 550 watt psu on:
- 2 PA2's
- Aquaero

made a connection from:
- PA2 (50 to 5) and aquabus cable to the Aquaero
- usb from laptop to Aquero

I turnd on the power "nothing hapend the same like yesterday "1\4 turn and stop and again \4 turn and stop) ahum think think.
Yes i'm going to change the spare psu from the old 550 watt to a 700 watt Coolermaster whatever.

I turnd the power on and yes al works "so perhaps the A of the old psu is not enough". So i'm glad it has nothing to do with the power harnes.

Because i have more questions i need to test again so i did:

Test 1 (8 PL-2 fans on one PA2)

rpm % V A
1332 100 11,70 0,97
1300 90 11,20 0,92
1202 80 9,90 0,80
1107 70 8,70 0,70
1007 60 7,40 0,59
877 50 6,20 0,50
747 40 5,00 0,38
585 30 3,70 0,26
185 29 3,60 0,17

Test 2 (8 PL-2 fans on aquaero 5 fanheader 4 )

rpm % V A oC
1349 100 11,50 0,85 37
1280 90 10,60 0,78 39
1203 80 9,40 0,68 41
1092 70 8,30 0,58 44\48

I stopt the testing because the temp of the aquaero went up to 48 degrees.

I got a few questions for you:

1. Can i put al the 16 fans on the fanheader 4 from the aqeuaero 5 pro. I'm in the range of 2 A "and still save i think".
2. If i put al the fans on the fanheader 4 from the aquaero 5 pro then i dont need the PA2's

3. With the usb i can controle the PA2's and flash them (do i need both on the PA2's usb and aquabus)
4. what functions has the aquabus.

made the screws disapear and made the fanstickers black with vinyl.
I'm going to test these when i get the 2 other fans.

testing testing

Aquero out and the pedestel on its side

New spare psu "have to watch out else i have a electric chair instaid of a pc"

100% reading (8 fans "strange only ,5 volt instead of 12"

Thats the same like above

only temp reading i found "nothing to say about this"

1) 2A is too much for the Fan header (I'm going by your calculations-if you are at 2A then you need a PA2 Ultra)
2) See 1
3)After flashing the firmware with USB connected, all you need is the aquabus connection. PA2's will show up as additional fan headers in aquasuite for the Aquaero
4) Aquabus is the primary communication port for peripherial devices (PA2, etc)

Higher loads on a fan header will show voltage <12V. This is because of the way the amps work on the Aquaero and is normal.

Those temperatures for the fan amplifiers look fine. BTW headers 1&2, 3&4 share the same temp sensor. So in reality there is only 2 temp sensors for the headers + 1 for the Aquaero cpu

Thank you for the information "verry helpful" . thumb.gif

Yes progress,

Cant sit still "Hill 7.9 is eating me \ o wel just al my spare time" .
With the buildlogs of cpa chris an seanimus in my head i'm desperate to make a decision where to put my second Aquaero 5 pro.
So i started with installing a draining point in the pedestel after i measure out the position of the backplate (moterboard) I need the loop to go behind the motherboard tray. I put a 4 way block about 20 cm from the back "there the loop goos up to above the position of the processor" and goos back in tru a fillport.
The system gets 2 loops and the draining of both loops coms together behind the 4 way block.

After putting the draining of the first loop in the pedestel i made a start with (pre installing \ have to do wiring first) from the second Aquaero 5 pro.
I think its to mutch work to separate them.
The best way is in the pedestel obove each other. I put al the connections in. "yes need som more to purchase" The 90 degree fittings box is empty.

Fillport in.

Plenty of room beneath and above the valve.

The loop coms in from the right front tru a fillport. "mayby i make the angle shorter" waiting for the bitspower quick disconnects.

Bad light "i bolted the case to the pedestel so a bether picture have to wait till next updat".
In the lower right you just see a part of the 4 way block "with tempsensor".
The bitspower sli extenders are great to work with.

I'm glad i made it so far this week.

Is the pedestal with the Aquaero's above or below the main case? Reason I ask is when it comes time down the road when Aqua Computer updates firmware, it seems like a pain to get to the Aquaero's to plug in a USB cable?
Or maybe you already saw a way around that. wink.gif

Hi Mandrix,

Its below the main case.
For updating\flashing i used a homemade usb cable. So the length is no problem.

I saw Seaniumus made his own usb cable and used a nzxt usb extend block for multiple usb connections.

"Got your Aquaero back yet" smile.gifsmile.gifthumb.gif

Well I just meant would it be hard to reach, to plug the USB cable into the Aquaero's. Guess you got it covered though.

No, haven't heard any more about my Aquaero being repaired yet. Have no idea where I am in the que but Sven said it should ship this week.

yes almost, but its just preinstalled. i still need to brake down for the cables. i just wanted to find the right setup and i found it. So more progress to com.
but thanks you mention about the cable. before i make the powerharnes for the (PA2's and the 2 AQ5) i wil take a look if its posible to plug in from underneath\above.
ha i wil let you no.
