Good morning Seross69,

You got one advantage, You got you own stor. Whe need to purchase avery time. This month already 7 packages. And i already need to purchase more.
I find it also a advantage "if you build is slow" that you can plan carefuly because you have the time.
Already filing 3 days on a piece acrylic. Its slowing me down. grrrr...smile.gif......

I would go with the double density led's 120/meter. I got the waterproof kind:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AUCJC4I/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But it doesn't matter where you get them, although I would def go with double density. Some of the led strips have adhesive backing, some don't. I'm going to use double sided Scotch indoor mounting tape most likely for mounting the strip.

Also I got some connectors from Hitlights for attaching sections of led strip, but I'll probably use it for leftover strip to attach power leads. As cpachris pointed out to me, the connectors have to be the right ones. I originally ordered the connectors for single density strip (60/m).

Instead of etched acrylic I got some of this type acrylic precut and edge polished on the way. Got the link from seanimus448, he bought some but hasn't used it yet in his build:
http://www.acrylite-shop.com/US/us/acrylite-sheet/endlighten-crfo8s7j0ro.html

I got the basic 3 sided U channel frame made and screwed/epoxied, but I may end up not being able to use it. I ordered the Acrylite panel 21 3/8" x 8 3/8" which may not fit inside it because of the way I attached the corners. If that turns out to be the case then I will do similar as you suggested and just make a frame out of flatbar and set it on top the acylic sheets or use some aluminum angle.
Either way is simple enough.

I'll be powering mine most likely with my FC8, If I could keep the current under 1A I could use the pwm outputs of the Aquaero's but I don't want to take a chance and blow the circuits by overloading them.
Software control would be nice, but I can live with manual control with the FC8 + with 30W/channel it's more than enough power.

After calculating looks like I'll definitely be using the FC8 as I'll be way past 1A.

Yes oke got it,
After a quick look at my order "who is on its way from belgium to me (thats quick)" the leds are 120 leds a/m.
1000 lumen a meter is a lot.

Lichtsterkte (Luminous flux): Max. 1000 lumen per meter.
Kleur LED: RGB
Waterdicht: IP68
Voltage: 12V
Stroomverbruik: 1.2 A / meter
Vermogen: 14.4 W / meter
Kan elke 3 LEDs geknipt worden.
Breedte van de strip: 12mm
Hoogte van de strip: 5mm

I also got a 30 watt psu for the led "dont no if i'm going to use "its for testing". i probably going to use 2 m of leds. so 3 m left for testing or for use
in the office. thumb.gif

Had a few hours today to work on the case.

I wanted to make a new bracket for the PA2's in the pedestel and mount them to the floor and do som sleaving.
Wel bracket almost finished:

- The first measurements i took over from the frontplate of the PA2's where wrong 90 degrees ofline. mad.gif

- the second piece i made was oke but i made a mistake "the dril went tru the acrylic instead of just a piece ( so another one for te dustbin). mad.gifmad.gif

- The last one is always the best ha ha. So tomorow i wil dril 2 holes in the floorpanel and mound the bracket with the 4 PA2's.thumb.gif

The bracket has a T- shape and wil be mounted on the pedestel floor between the 2 radiators ( for extra cooling) the hight of the T-shape bracket is about 6 cm.

Like your idea on the PA2's I got the bay mounts for them but might end up using something like this..

Update 54 "leds received",

Before i go on with my build i want to show you what Santa brought today.

Controller so i can play with the color.

I think i wil purchase a extra controller FC9. 50Watt channel. I dont now where i'm going to mount it yet.

The controller have build in memmory build for the last settings.

bag with roll of leds. I just opent the bag a few sec and my wife says "what a horibble smel".

3 sets of connectors to use in the corners of the lightpanel \ case. The cable between the connectors are 1,5m.
Because i need them for smal corners i wil cut the wire. and sleeve them.

Roll of leds.

The ledstrip is 12 mm x 5 mm (its possible to cut behind 3 leds).

Update 55 "or just busy \ Acrylic top for the lightpanel"

The thing is i love the bleu\ chrome light from the blocks and res. So i'm trying both top pannels the opaal color version and the clear edged one.
I made a paper mal wich i'm going to put under the plate so i can see the 1 cm marking where the dremel have to make a v shape.

I have a big plate with 2 cracks in it. "thats why i got it for free YES". Because it is second hand there is no protection film on it.
I use paper instead of the film. I draw the lines on the panel and mask the other side. also a extra path so the jigsaw slide over.

The new fine cuttingblade did the job perfect. Just a little sanding and polishing. "after i fit the panel in the case"

avery time i search for a tools i have to put the wooden plates aside. grrrrr. need more space.

The panel dont fit yet but wil be after i finish working on it.

For the engraving i made a drawing in AutoCAD en use it to guide the dremel. Befor i start i will do a smal piece so i can
see i it going to work.

more later. thumb.gif

After the coffee 20:00 hour i went back to my workshop to finish the raw panel.

YesYes i now bad picture wel i make a better one tomorrow . Just finished the top panel 8mm.
I have more then one option for the frame:
- 4 L strips in the corners a small piece acrylic with a screw in it. behind the acrylic i can make a hole to pas tru the wire from the leds.
- 4 flat strips up to the edge of the frame (covers the front of the acrylic too) and the top loose on the strips.
Because i now have the exact measurements of the top panel i can make the other panel (opaal tomorrow).

So tomorrow:

- in the morning (the mechanic of the phone company "no phone sinds the update the system"
- afternoon purchase 2 new office chairs (wife happy i hope)
After that shopping for dinner and do som more work on the case "i hope".

I don't remember I am still thinking of the third pedestal but don't really want to have to do this but I will if I have to and sorry but I did not see the question you asked about this. I might need it to put in my TEC water chiller as the water blocks I had made came out a lot bigger than I planned on!!
