TATH \ Caselabs TH 10 + Pedestal "Hill 7.9" - Page 10

Nice.
Just a suggestion, take it as you will. If all the fans are pushing air out from the pedestal, you could filter the incoming air through the ends of the pedestal. There will not be enough impedance to air flow to make a difference unless you think you will be running your fans wide open all the time, in my experience.
If you just like the look of the multiple filters, then cool. thumb.gif

I was looking back over the pedestal and the Power Adjusts, and something occurred to me...are you going to only run 4 fans on each PA2?
Just curious.

I really like those wide pedestals. Next time around (if there is a next time) I'm definitely going with a wider case and match it with a pedestal. The pedestals for the SM8 will hold a 60mm rad in push/pull but that's pretty much it. With those wider pedestals you can stick all kinds of goodies in them. thumb.gif

Any more progress?

Thanks for the updates Tath. Love the cover plate mod, never seen anything like this before. thumbsupsmiley.png

Hi mandrix,

I rebuild the radiators in the way Chris did. I had to turn around the rads with the fitting connections to the back. The cover plates needs some adjustments now. maybe i need to replace the.

I had enough time to read the specifications of the power adjusters . 25 watt \ 2 Amp on one PA Ultra max..

The maximum watt of the fans are:
Noiseblocker PL-PS . 1.10 watt at 0.09 Amp
Noiseblocker PS-2 1.44 watt at 0.12 Amp

In the Pedestel are 16 Noiseblocker PS-2 fans:

rad 1 (left) with 8 fans 11,52 Watt 0,72 Amp. (PA 1)
rad 2 (right) with 8 fans 11,52 Watt 0,72 Amp. (PA 2)

rad 3 (bottom TH10) 4 fans 5.76 Watt 0.45 Amp
(bottom TH10 back) 4 fans 5.76 Watt 0.45 Amp (PA 3)

rad 4 (top TH10 front) 4 fans 5.76 Watt 0.45 Amp
rad 5 (top TH10 back) 4 fans 5.76 watt 0.45 Amp (PA 4)

No problem at all. I can run the 16 fans on one PA Ultra because i'm in the safe range 23,04 Watt and 1.92 Amp
But i want to control them independently (front and back) so i'm planning to use 2 PA Ultra for the fans in the Pedestel.

In the TH10 on the bottom i have 2 pumps Aqua D5. Shiiiii.... I just have the pomp out the box max 35 Watt one pomp. I thout that it be enough 1 pump on one Power adjuster.

I think i need another Aquero 5 pro for the pumps only.
Tomorrow i will figger this out how to manage it (i will have a look at the Aqua forum). I hope that because the pumps dont run at full speed maybe one PA on one pump is enough.

Its now 18:45 (8 hour time shift withe the States (later here).

I have no pictures taken with the rebuild off the pedestel because the all looks the same. O yes forgot to mention i'm going to run 8 fans on one PA Ultra, I have tried it out already.

O advice is always welcome.

have to go now thumb.gifthumb.gif

You have a D5 pump that pulls 35W? Which one is it exactly?
Both my Swiftech D5's are 22W. I run one on a PA2 Ultra.

Hi Mandrix,

Just back from the Firestation.

Its a D5 pump from Aqua with usb, alarm, and temp sensor
running 8-24v DC, typeD5, Max 37W:thumb:

Aqua computer says that the pump may run a short time with a max off 48W. During the short period you manage to turn down the max power. i do not expected that the pumps are running at full speed all the time.
Now i have 2 other D5 pumps in and the not running higher then 60\70 %.

That's weird, on the webshop they show the D5 with aquabus and USB to be 23W. That sounds right to me, running at 12V.
But anyway the PA2 Ultra will handle a 48W start up draw. thumb.gif

I have a MCP655 variable and I've measured start up current with a meter and it was 1.8A (22W). When I look at Aquasuite it shows it pulling almost 2A (24W) at 10.8V (wide open).
Don't know if AC has done something to make their pumps draw more, I wouldn't think so.

I can never get it to pull a full 12V because of the way the PA2 amps work with heavy power draw devices, they sacrifice some voltage for power delivery.

Just found out yesterday on the AC webshop there is no difference between a PA2 standard and Ultra. You pay for a key to unlock a standard to an Ultra version. Strange.

Yes found it.

Operating voltage: 8-24 V DC
Power consumption: 23 W (at 12 V)

so no problem to connect the pumps to a PA Ultra.
So that is sorted out.
