FACTS.
3770K = $229.99
8350 = $199.99
The 3770K only cost 15% more than a 8350. Last time I checked, $30 isnt going to get you no 7970.
I know its hard to give up the ONLY thing the 8350 has going for it, but the 8350 is not the best performance to $ ratio.

Microcenters don't exist outside of North America. Even there, few live anywhere near one.

Also you can opt for an FX-8320 which is basically the same thing but 20$ cheaper.

Also 8320 only 160$ at Microcenter hurr durt

In Latvia difference between 3770k and 8350 is ~170$. With this money you can choose i7 and HD 7870 or AMD and 7970. I do not think it is worth to take i7. So it would be good to know , price list in your country, of course if you worry about money. biggrin.gif
Sorry my english.

IMO the i7 is the overall better performer, but as for 'smarter' thats your call. If there is significant cost savings going with the FX-8350 then that might be the better choice for you.

i7 is the one with better performance, but if you are too concerned with budget might as well go AMD 8320. If you went for the 8350, i would tell you to go the 3570k route instead.

Sabertooth is a weird board to buy if the budget is the most important thing with the build in question. It's more about the name and the looks rather than features or something along those lines. The thing with IB is that it'll clock just as well on a gigabyte D3H as on that sabertooth. And the best version of the D3H is around $120 on newegg at the moment.

PD chips will also require a better cooler when overclocked to the max than IB chips do. The power consumption is still that much higher even if it's not BD level.

And those parts weren't even relevant in this thread...

hurr durt, for $160 you can get a 2500K and pwn a 8320 and 8350 in any game out there. Oh yeah, if you happened to miss op's original post, he needs a CPU that is good for gaming. So basically anything AMD has to offer is out of the question.

Nowhere did the op say he was on a budget, so i really dont understand why people are recommending their budget junk.
