Gaming on the Dell 2412M

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

About to order the Dell 2412M on sale at Dell Canada. Just a quick question about gaming on high response times though, has anyone noticed any problems with ghosting, input lag, etc while playing on monitors with a slow response?

I know there are many 24" monitors out there with better response times that are cheaper, but I need a 16:10 for the extra height while doing programming work.

Any input would be much appreciated! smile.gif

Personally I don't see any ghosting or input lag but I'm no monitor expert. Mine did come with a bit of backlight bleed but I'm told a lot of IPS monitors have this issue and it's not totally a big problem. The extra height is nice when photoshopping and coding but most videos full screen will have black bars on the top and bottom. All in all I love this monitor and I'm actually about to buy a second one, it the best monitor I've ever own under $300 Hope I could help.

I use a freaking Korean IPS and I don't see input lag or ghosting. Although it isn't as fast as an Asus 2ms. I love the image quality.

Thanks for replying,

Is back light bleeding noticeable if the room is lit up?

Not at all, I don't even notice it when watching a movie with the lights on. The only time I do notice is when the room is completely dark and the background is black, other than that I don't notice it at all. Also I try to stay away from dark Wallpapers.

I don't see poor color vibrancy on mine. It has an AG coating, which is somewhat noticeable with a white background. But it's really not bad at all. And reflections are also noticeable on glossy screens.
