Definitely a firmware issue by the sounds of it then.

I'll contact Viewsonic and find out if this issue can be resolved somehow.

Anyone tried upgrading a monitors firmware before?

So this is the fastest IPS in terms of lag for gaming and stuff?

Are there any 1440p IPS monitors that can be overclocked past 60Hz (like the 72Hz VG236AH for example)? I know one guy that thinks he has overclocked his U2713HM to 90Hz. Anyone hear of anything like that? He says he notices smoother motion but doesn't know if he is getting the full 90FPS because of the pixel clock or whatever.

from what i've gathered this monitor has the lowest input lag

being able to set the output refresh rate > 60Hz does not mean the displays is not dropping frames. there is a tool (no, not me) to check for dropped frames http://www.overclock.net/t/1363440/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-owners-club/2170#post_19436523

Thanks,

How do you use that refresh rate multi tool? I tried it and it just shows all these rectangles flickering. Not sure how I can tell if frames have been dropped or not?

Edit: Oh wait I see, just read that post again all makes sense now. Thanks!

Edit: Well I'm running it at 12 * 10 and can't really tell if its dropping frames (120hz monitor). I tried it at 20 * 10 and you could tell for the first few seconds but then it sped up and you really couldn't make out if it was dropping any more. Do you need a superfast camera or something?

Does each and every bar light up sequentially? If so, you would be getting all of the frames you are supposed to be seeing. If not, then your monitor is skipping frames.

I tried it at 120 and 200 rectangles at 120Hz and couldn't tell the difference so far. I think the issue here is that 120Hz is a bit too fast to determine then.

I'll try at 60Hz

The birds feet (stand) is sexy.

Last year a bunch of multi-input models (Korean multi's and Samsung S27A850D) were tested with higher hz and all skipped frames, doubt the U2713HM and PB278Q are any different.

Yeah but why websites and reviews says 1.07 billion and some 8bit+frc. TFtcentral. I though that is wide gammut. Anyway iam decided to buy this monitor, soon. The biggest problem actually is my small desk, wil have to sit very close to it.
