ViewSonic VP2770 Review+Club: 2560x1440 Semi-Glossy PLS - Page 51

Bump.

Anyone? I have a picture in the previous post to show what I'm talking about.

So, this is what I'm talking about. Bare with me if it seems like I'm nitpicking, because I am: This was a very expensive purchase, after all.

Look at the bottom right corner; Thats the main offender. Though theres a teeny-tiny bit of shadowing all around the bottom edge, the bottom-right corner has it the worst, and it's a bit more severe in person than in the picture. From what I can tell, that corner is darker than the rest of the screen. Is this abnormal? I literally just received the screen yesterday, so if it isn't, I'll whisk this back to Newegg in a heartbeat.

Picture again, zoom in on the bottom-right corner:

OK so Viewsonic must have changed the panel they use for this monitor. People who own this keep saying it's a PLS panel but if you look on Viewsonic's site and on Amazon it states a IPS panel. What's up?

It's been like that always. It's a PLS panel. This review covered it. ViewSonic calls it IPS because that term is more well-known than the term "PLS".

Is someone able to test (or knows it already) if one or multiple USB ports of the ViewSonic are self powered? I want to know if I'm able to charge a device without the need to connect the PC to the monitor.

Easy to test: Remove the USB cable of the PC and try to charge your smartphone.

They aren't.

Only for your interest:
The VP2770 supports HDCP through HDMI. The most of the cheap 27 inch supports it only on DVI-D.

Anyone notice any image burn-in or persistance on their units? Just noticed some myself thanks to my MMO hotbars.. hopefully it's not permanent.

So far i've read that the input lag of this monitor is great , do we have anyone playing twitch games like CS GO? Is it noticeable in those games? Any input is really appreciated <3
