Battlefield 3 FPS?

Thread Starter
Me and my friend were comparing frames on BF3. I have EVGA GTX 670 4 gb SC+, and he has a Gigabyte Windforce HD 7950 OC'ed to 1050mhz core. While I was dropping below 60 FPS constantly he never went below 70 FPS. We both were running the game max out with 4x MSAA with FOV @ 90, 1920x1080. I'll drop down to low 40's sometimes. Now I'm making this thread so people can chime in with their FPS in BF3. Particularly with a gtx 670, 2gb or 4gb. I'm reading on other forums and such that people don't drop below 60 FPS with their 670's so I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with my card.

I have a EVGA 670 FTW and the lowest i've seen was in the high 50.

Try 310.70 beta drivers?

Are you running the cpu you have in your SIG?

The 12.11 driver really made a big difference. I barely go under 60FPS with my 7970 and my work computer that has a 6870 that couldnt play on high with reasonable frames can now do all high and get 40-50FPS.

Yep.

CPUs dont really matter that much in gaming. It's mostly a marketing hype if you want my opinion, unless you really want those 120 fps.

I would run 3Dmark and compare your scores. I would also take other people's claims with a pinch of salt as a lot of people will big up their own systems. It's also difficult to compare FPS without a dedicated benchmark. Environmental factors in the maps, number of players, effects etc can all change and make it difficult to test.

Also check that you are running the latest drivers as there was a nice gain to be had in them. Up to 16% I believe.

I too sometimes drop below 60FPS with my 680 and although very rarely, it seems to happen when i'm within a lot of smoke and something explodes right in front of me. Other than that, it doesn't drop below.
