Now if they run the Geforce utility the game will be autoconfigured and look better.
Ohhhh right. I think I know what you mean.

When I installed CoD4 many years ago (the last CoD that I ever played) the game installed with a default resolution of 1024x768 and low settings. Most games still do this.
Obviously for any PC gamer with a brain the first thing we do after installing a game is go straight into options and turn everything to max + set to native resolution, it comes to us as naturally as breathing...but it would DEFINITELY explain why so many console players say (or at least used to say) that XBox/PS3 looks "better" than PC. Because sitting 4 meters away from their TV, 720p would look alright...but sitting 2 feet away from a 23-24" monitor, 720p would look atrocious.

Console gamers don't think about going straight to graphics options and increasing settings (and setting to native resolution) when they install a game on their PC, they never needed to do that on consoles because graphics options have never existed on consoles!

That's why nVidia released this program! IT ALL MAKES SENSE!

I have it installed and it's working fine, other than I can't change the optimal resolution. 1080p makes my eyes bleed. Pretty cool app though. Was playing Mass Effect 3 and didn't realize that I could turn AF up, I had it at 2.

No thanks. I have no problem with setting my own settings.

You should put AF on max (16) on all your games, AF impact on performance is really really low on any GPU from the last 6-7 years.

Edit: I think I misunderstood, you probably knew that, you just didn't notice there was an AF option I guess.

The in game options only have AA and dynamic shadows. I assume you can change it in the nvidia control panel as well, but I normally don't change the 3d settings that way.

This seems like it would be a good tool to install on my girlfriends computer since she doesn't mess with the settings and just starts to play, downloading and I'll see how well it works.

I prefer manually tweaking my settings, but I can see this being useful for a lot of people who "just want to play games" and don't really know what they're doing when confronted with any kind of options for game settings. Good for console gamers making the jump to pc I guess.

Are you using the GTX 260 in your sig? This is only compatible with Fermi and Kepler.
