So is the rad necessary in the test loop?

Yes, it is required.

I would just go out and buy a really cheap aircooled heatsink if your going to bench test your system. Just don't put a heavy load or overclock and you will be fine. You can at least make sure everything powers up.

ok well gonna try this watercooled test bench thingy that jeff is recommending... haha hope everything works out and pray that it all turns on... gonna rinse the rad after i install the cpu block and have my dual bay resd hooked up with pumps so gonna do the loop after i rinse rads for a bit... im using the corsair ax1200i so any tips for jumping it? i will need to jump it right? or because im doing full test should it all power on normally? going to have 2 fans on 240 rad, using 1 pump, and then sli gpus and mobo... hopefully i can fgure out where to plug all those tongue.gif

wish me luck...

Make sure there is water all through the loop before turning on your computer.

If they show up in BIOS and in device manager and you get s good heaven or whatever benchmark you are using score, then they are working smile.gif

well overall a failure... installed the cpu block while getting stringy ass thermal paste all over the place and board, then i hooked up the graphics cards only to realize that i didnt by the proper extension fitting to merge the two... thought id be cool and tried to cut tubing exactly to match distance... after cutting my finger and dropping the heavy ftting multiple times on the board i found out that that was almost impssible to do with my setup and decided i need to have yet another koolance order and get the proper extension... on top of all this while im putting everything back in case i realize that the gpus stick out quite a bit from mobo and now cannot fit in case unless the massive res is pushed flush with the optical drive leaving no room for cables or room for air... frown.gif(((((((((((((( quite sad but i look ahead and will continue the fight!!!

placing orders for more 90 degree fitting as well as 45 degree just in case... ordering a 60mm res instead of the 80 that i have.... and will obviously order the extension piece as well... so gonna be held back by this order and will keep you guys posted

enjoy the pics in meantime.... gonna look sick though when its all done tongue.gif

as i dont have any other spare computer parts around i njust wanted to verify that the axcorsair 1200i can be jumped correct? im gonna need to jump it to fill the test loop and test some fans... i just need confirmation that it can be jumped like any other psu so that i wont run into yet another roadblock when my koolance stuff reaches tomorrow... otherwise ill order a cheap ass psu tonight

thanks
It can be jumped like any other PSU. Just find the green wire and jump it with any back wire. If they are all the same color, then use a chart. thumb.gif
