[RP] Galaxy S4 Will Reportedly Feature An “Unbreakable” Screen, Still On Track For Launch In April - Page 4

I want them to make it smaller than the S2.
I like the size of iPhone 4S's but I prefer the Android OS and would rather support Samsung.. It's poo! My S2 LTE is massive! The S3 even more massive!

My contract is up tomorrow and I should really start looking for something new. I can't get a Nexus 4 where I live so I'm considering the S3. Is it wise to buy one now when the S3 is getting "old" and new one around the corner?

I would wait it out, If you wait you get a phone that will be supported (properly) throughout the lenght of your contract, if you get an s3 updates might stop sooner.
where do you live?

Finland. I have not heard anything about the N4 possibly coming to any more countries and if they do LG would still have problems producing enough of them.

I seriously doubt that it will be unbreakable.

In general it will either crack easily or it will scratch easily, there is no real way to get around it. It becomes even harder when you consider that a smartphone screen must be as transparent as possible. I call this a pipe dream.

We already have fully transparent bullet proof glass and bomb proof composites, this is not a pipe dream. It's simply going to take research and time to adapt these materials to our desired applications.

Stop being such a Debbie downer. wink.gif

You're all too quick to dismiss this, especially when you hide behind the word 'unbreakable'. The title is a summary, in order to efficiently get to the point they're trying to make. If you read the article, the word unbreakable is put into context, that context being a screen that can withstand the general impacts that come with a phone falling from about 5 foot. I can make anything look impossible when I take it out of context like you guys are doing.

I don't understand why everyone on OCN needs to dismiss things so easily without putting forth an educated argument.
