The sensor is amazing! Its easily as good and maybe even better than the one in my Sensei Raw (yeah I have a mouse fetish and own about a dozen different ones). I think I could recommend this to a current DA 3500 or older owner looking for something new. With a newer and better sensor and better grip texture, I think its a better mouse and I never thought Id say that cause the DeathAdder is tied with my G9 as the greatest mice of all time. Loving this thing! Just wish it wasnt green lighting because now it doesnt match with my BlackWidow Ultimate.
Thank you for your post!
Did/do you experience any delay or "smoothing" with your D.A. 2013 versus your original DeathAdder, and did/does your original DeathAdder use Synapse?
Yes I use Synapse. I'm one of the few people that don't mind it. I do think it's a little silly you have to create an account to get your mouse driver to work but it's a minor inconvenience and nothing that keeps me from Razer gear of which I have a good bit of. The actual UI of Synapse is excellent and better than Logitech and SteelSeries.
As for delay, I do think I noticed once or twice that if I left the mouse alone for a few minutes while typing or something then moved it, there was a split second of delay kinda like my G700 does for battery saving. I only noticed it a couple times and it was never anything that bothered me. I logged 2 hours of Borderlands and 3 hours of Mass Effect 2 last night and it worked flawlessly.
There does seem to be a "smoothness" to the way it moves. I have noticed that it's not quite as jerky as other mice. Typically I don't use mouse smoothing or whatever it's called in their drivers but this also was never a problem in my 6 hour use yesterday. I just wrote it off to it being such a superb sensor as opposed to some software.
