[wccf] Intel Ivy Bridge-Y Mobile Series Specifications Detailed – Feature 10W TDP - Page 4

I've seen a few ATIV Pro users and talked to one and the consensus seems to be that the tablet lasts about 6 of light usage (web browsing and multimedia). Sounds good to me. The ATIV Pro uses a standard ULV Ivy Bridge i5 IIRC

not always.
think of SoC's......the main power improvements have come from process shrinkage and across the board power optimizations.
Then dual cores came in about the same time.

EDIT: I actually did the math, apparently Hondo has ~43% the IPC of Ivy Bridge... that's actually considerably better than I expected.

That's why I made this comparison, because it is not at all a big difference when you see that it is 40nm AMD 1ghz Dual Core CPU(4.5W TDP) vs 22nm Intel Ivy Bridge 1.1 ghz Dual Core CPU(7/10W TDP).

You have to ask yourself what would be the CPU frequency / TDP, of Ivy Bridge Dual Core CPU that is produced at 40nm.In the case of AMD Kabini(E series APU succsessor) / Tamesh APU/SoC(C/Z series APU succsessor), which will be produced in 28nm vs 40nm there we can already see a big difference. biggrin.gif

Maybe all people do not know this, but AMD 40nm Bobcat APU E / C / Z series(produced by TSMC) was made on old modified AMD K8 CPU architecture. wink.gif

Intel Haswell will accomplish this. I am waiting for them, but this is a big step in the right direction. I think Intel Haswell can put a stop to the ARM movement. More competition ftw.

Alright, I was wrong on the i3 hyperthreading, sorry.

Still, I don't think a 1.5GHz 2c4t CPU deserves an i7 branding.

Crappy branding aside, atom killer yeah?

These are slate ready processors. We might see 10.1 inch tablets powered by intel.
