Did I read that right, your card has trouble on boot up due to this low volt issue?
There is no bios editor atm since most of the bios is signed, ie. encrypted/loced etc.

Yeah that's still my fear as to what the problem is, but if doubling up and using two connectors into one works, I'll be soooooooo happy right now. Will try the two pin splitter when I get home (as despite my luck so far, I think I might have one)

To give an update running off of two rails did not fix the issue. I'm convinced now that the bios voltage is set too low. I'll hang on to the card ( since she over clocks fairly well) and will wait till someone updates a bios editor to work with the 7800 series.
