How to overclock FM2/Trinity/A10-5800K?

Thread Starter
Hi, I recently purchased my A10-5800K and I want to know how I would go about overclocking it. I haven't overclocked a AMD CPU in a long time. What settings do I need to change? I know I have a unlocked multiplier but do I need to adjust anything else aside from the multiplier and voltages? Should I turn Cool n' Quiet off?

I don't want to increase my voltage much - but it seems to hit about 1.4V under 100% load. From what i've read that's fairly normal for APU's.

Thanks smile.gif

Yes on unlocked APUs easiest way to oc is through multi and voltage. If u do not use discrete graphics card u would benefit from ocing NB, iGPU and RAM alot so bclk OC would be recommended.

About stock voltage most APUs have it alot higher then actually needed 1.4 seems default on most but they run fine on 1.2 if kept on stock and of ocing usually go fairly high 500MHz+ without touching voltage.

Cool and quiet, apm, thermal throttle, c6 and all other c power saving options are usually turned off when ocing.

So to find out max cpu freq. just play round with multi and voltage simple as that.
If u use u re igpu u will benefit alot from ocing bclk as it increase NB, RAM and iGPU
ofc u can always change multi for iGPU, and most boards have 2133 ram support so u could just go ahead and stick to just playing with multipliers.
