The problem with the GTX 690 is that the cores only have 2 GB each meaning the card is almost useless at 1440P and above you would be better off with 2x GTX 670 4GB cards or even 2x GTX 680 4 GB cards the 2 GB per core on the GTX 690 is what kills it
Not may words a guy over at the 1440P club hates his GTX 690 because of the 2GB per core
I have a single GTX 680 2GB card myself and i am not too happy with it i am going to sell it and buy 2x GTX 680 with 4GB

Sory but its the truth Sleeping Dogs Far Cry 3 Sniper Elite and even the good old Crysis are almost unplayable in 1440P i know for a fact that Sleeping Dogs can eat 3GB of VRAM or more
I dont know if 4 GB VRAM makes a difference on the other games but in Sleeping Dogs it will
If you got a GTX 690 i would return it you would be better or with x2 4GB cards at 1440P and above some will agree on this others wont

Actually, no, it's not. It's AMD Radeon. Check the website, they only refer to it as AMD Radeon graphics.

Not true at all. OP's is an isolated case. It sucks that it's not working for them, but both sides have their own issues. I've own Nvidia cards and AMD cards (far more Nvidia than AMD) and I have had driver issues with both. In fact, I had far more driver issues with my GTX 460 and GTX 560 than I ever have with my 7950. Does that mean that Nvidia is terrible because I has frequent game crashes with my cards and a handful of system lockups and BSODs caused by Nvidia cards? No, it just means that in my case, AMD has proven to be better.

I'd have to agree that AMD drivers have issues. I used to have SLI GTX260s with no issues. Then I "upgraded" to CF HD6970s and had nothing but trouble on my triple monitor setup. I'm not sure if it was the CF or the Eyefinity but there was constant stuttering, tearing, and the occasional driver crash. I've since replaced them with a single GTX670 and have been good ever since - personally I'll stay away from any multiple GPU solution unless absolutely necessary.

In my somewhat limited experience I'd stick with nVidia regardless of cost/performance benefits.

I wouldn't get 670s.
But would I be better off getting 680 4GB cards...? Let's ignore water cooling for the time being

$900 GTX 690 vs $1060 SLI GTX 680 4GB
