3570k overclock 4.8?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I recently gone overclocking my CPU since i have my H100i inside my PC.
I got pretty low temps on 4.7 and i m thinking to try going higher,
But i just cant get it to 4.8 even if i give it 1.35 volts,

I aint sure how far i can go and still have some intel life.
I want a decent overclock but not a cpu that only lasts a year tongue.gif

My daily use has is 4.6 ghz and 1.295volts
Its all fine on Prime95 with a Max temp of average 62 celcius (ambient 22)

So i guess i could easly go 8-10 celcius more hotter for a daily use,

Maybe i just have a bad overclocking chip, But anyhow ^^

Wanted to hear you opinion how far you normaly go for 4.8 ghz,
Just to know if i dont have to overdo it and let my CPU damage due to much volts. and that its just a bad overclocker.

Best regards,
DrLuigi

4.6 -> to higher needs big jumps in voltage, try higher.

There are other settings besides voltage you know? What else have you done?

i also tryed getting my MHZ a clock higher and lowering the multiplier and on the same voltage.

Also what voltage are you then talking about, I just dont wanna kill this chip to see that it just wasnt meant to clock that high ^^

Your chip isn't bad, most of us need 1.37-1.4v for 4.8Ghz. Mine is stable at 1.375v, just give it some more voltage I'm sure h100i can handle it.

I will try 1.38 if its alright gonna start lowering it i guess.

If you can't get it to 4.8 with higher vcore , try pll at 1.8 or even do the pll overvoltage option.

I should add that my motherboard is a Asus p8z77-v.

Its already on 1.8 on standard ^^

I know 1.8 is default value but if it's set on auto you may never know what board does with it, as i said you can also try overvoltage option and giving it like 1.832

1.375 works fine ^^

Tryed 1.37 and it had a blue screen,
So far it works fine tho on 1.375.

Might try higher,

Of course i guess this are still healthy temps,
I think 80 should be the max ?
