I was given a small water bottle cooler that sit in an abandoned house for several years. After about an hour of cleaning (mice had made a nest inside it....) I am ready to start testing its ability to cool an i7.

I took off the top, front, and back panels. I will be using a submersible pond pump to pump water from the reservoir to the CPU, and back. (open-loop)
If it can keep up with a fully loaded i7, I will build a front panel for it and install a fan. The fan will push air around the compressor and then into the condenser. Hopefully this will keep it from dying early.
We had several coolers like this at the power plant where I used to work. The area they were in would reach 130F when the generators were online in the summer time. The water was always ice cold, and they got plenty of use.
