Help overclocking 3570K - Page 7

yes not one person who has gave advice here is wrong we have all had awesome advice. bottom line is it is all trail and error. Like I said try the auto voltage maybe it will work, I personally just don't do it that way. I have tried many times just for the hell of it and have got crazy results example my 3770k now if left on manual at 4.5ghz it give me 1.52 now if I set it up I have it stable at 1.31v. I guess just because it has never once worked for me doen't mean it won't for you.

sorry if you thought I was bashing the auto setting advice, you have been along way longer than me.

An Auto voltage with an Offset is bad, but for Manual with a tiny overclock, it's alright.

I was just thinking that to. Maybe a -.050 would get around 1.7 or so. I am with forceman. One step at a time. Not auto and offset at the same time. Let him see what the volts are on auto then figure the offset out after? Sorry i saw you were reponding to his post. My bad

So what does everyone think I should do then. Stick to having the settings as I have them now(llc at level 4, offset -0.60v) or just have vcore to auto and work from there.

I have a concern about the temp reaching 90 with only 1.232V under load.

I would work from auto since you are only wanting 4.2 right now. Then maybe try an -.050 offset. If my math is correct going from you 1.232 voltage. That might work.

dont worry about those temps now there is no way you need more than 1.2v for 4200

reset back to default everything boot into windows and run IBT wait for it to load 100% usage

after than write down what the lowest voltage you saw the vcore goto in cpu-z

whatever that voltage is, theoretically you should be able to overclock to 4.2ghz with
