Hello, We are next to be in 2013 and it`s time to get a new smartphone(unlocked) but I dont know which one to buy becuase I see no difference in this range of price on unlocked phones(have to be in amazon webpage or ebay or a store that accepts venezuelan credit card and ships inside US) for thid reasson I ask you, here what I would need

Tegra 2 Performance or greater(gpu and cpu)
at least 512 mb ram
support for 32 gb micro sd
at least 5 MP Cam
at least 8 hours of battery with regular use
android

what would you do? wait until ending of january 2013 or get a phone from 1st days of january?

What carrier are you going to use the phone on? That definitely has some bearing on the decision here, as some phones are only GSM or CDMA.

Atrix 2 (great phone, perfect size, meets every criteria listed. has Tegra 2) GSM
GS2 (extremely close in specs to the Atrix 2)
Evo 4g
Droid Razr (basically a CDMA version of the Atrix 2)
HTC Incredible
Photon Q (slide out keyboard)
....

The list goes on. In order to properly head you in the right direction, we need more information.

1) Whom do you plan to have service with?
2) What are your preferred features? (slide out keyboard? touch screen only? Extremely light? etc.)
3) Do you want a phone to install custom ROM's on or keep the device purely stock?
4) Would you prefer to find a phone as inexpensive as possible to match the list you posted in OP, or do you want the best you can get for max longevity?

Answer those and we can go from there. There are a number of choices you have out there, it just depends on what you want.

Movistar from Telefonica....

The thing is I dont know where to buy a unlocked phone that is not from amazon or ebay, do you know another online store that accepts venezuelan credit card ?? At least I know that some stores like newegg doesnt accept this credit card. My knowledge is limited in this area

1) Whom do you plan to have service with?
Movistar

2) What are your preferred features? (slide out keyboard? touch screen only? Extremely light? etc.)
style doesnt matter, only I want performance over features in keyboard

3) Do you want a phone to install custom ROM's on or keep the device purely stock?
If it`s possible install any type of ROM but keep it working with all apps , can be on stock but it has to let me OC if I can use some mods

4) Would you prefer to find a phone as inexpensive as possible to match the list you posted in OP, or do you want the best you can get for max longevity?

Maximum amount of money I can pay is 300$ but if there is a lower price with same hardware(ram, cpu, gpu) but a recognized brand I would get it over any other more expensive

In my opinion, the HTC One V is a good choice.

Whether or not it's a good phone for its intended audience is a different question but it doesn't meet the OP's requirement for speed and I doubt it is really what they're looking for.

The Galaxy S2 sounds to be one of your best options and it's what I would recommend.

If you can exceed your budget by $50, go for a Nexus 4 though you're limited to the internal storage. If you want expandable storage go with some of the suggestions already posted in the thread. thumb.gif

Oh yes, I somehow forgot about the Nexus 4. If it's affordable, definitely get one smile.gif

It's $299 USD, which is cheap for an off-contract phone. Add tax and shipping, you're looking at around $320 or so
