a8-5600k + 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix RAM

Hey guys, I couldn't dig up much on the a8-5600k so if anyone was curious here's what I got stable HyperPi runs at

Heres the link to the RAM I used, picked it up on a black friday sale: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1412141

voltage is set to 1.4V CPU-Z fudged that one.

As for temps Its very unclear coretemp always reads zero with ~35C max, so assuming that it starts off ~16C according to BIOS its probably topping out at 51C? its also very cold in my apartment tonight so that could be helping a lot (60F atm), cooling is a stock cooler from a P2 X4 965.

Timings are: 10-11-11-24 @ 2133 1.6V (the board auto runs them with this much?) Mobo is Biostar TA75MH2. If u guys want me to do any more benches let me know, gona run prime for stability.

This computer was a budget build for my friends family, weighing in at a whooping $300, let me know what you guys think, also which benchmarks to run, I usually only run stability stuff lol.

still need to OC the iGPU.

Are you serious?! I didn't expect clocks like that out of the value ballistix. I was looking for results for the regular ballistix kits! That's not bad at all clock-wise. I'd lower clocks and bump latency down. CL10 just doesn't do it for me.

Yeah, I have an older AMD chip too and I think AM3 prefers tighter timings, but these new FM2s like higher DRAM frequency, I'm unsure of the gain amounts tho. I had to bump the CPU back down to 4.0 though because it was causing prime95 failures, perhaps the CPU got too hot when I tested it on warmer days. I might try and see if these sticks can get better timings at 1866, but yeah overall not bad for 27 bucks (BF deal)

Here you have a great thread about Crucials w/ a lot of tips:

I'm not sure about FM2 but under AM3+ w/ FXs you can go w/ them like 2100 8-8-8 smile.gif

Not on the Ballistix Sport. That'd be INCREDIBLE if you could, though.

I just picked up some of that LV Samsung RAM. I wonder how it compares to Ballistix. Ballistix was my first choice, but I got impatient with my 4gb of RAM.

The LV ram is gona be better, the sports can go to 2133 but at looser timings like 10-11-11-28 I know the LV can do 10-10-10-24 @ 2133, and can probably be tweeked further
